I invite you to come with me on a journey of your own choosing where we will walk together in darkness to find the light you’ve been seeking. Whether you choose me or another therapist, make the choice to just give it a try. Sometimes all you need is another person to hold the light while you do the work you need to heal.

Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I graduated from Duquesne University and then Marywood University. As a counselor/therapist I work with adults as they navigate the anxieties of life and relationships. I have been in the psychology field for over 20 years now. I love what I do and helping every client become successful. The relationship between the client(s) and myself is important in achieving the goals we set together. How our past experiences have influenced our current lives is a key issue. I feel that support systems in our daily lives are important to examine. The issues of separation, loss, freedom, dependence and independence are crucial to examine as one leaves home and parental influences. I work with individuals, couples, teens and families.
Every session is different because every client is different, as are their problems. I'll encourage you to talk and explore, in a structured way, your feelings and experiences. Whatever the technique or clinical approach, psychotherapy is not a magical cure, it is a process to help you find the capacity for improvement within yourself.
Psychotherapy aims to help you gain insight into your difficulties or distress and enable you to find more appropriate ways of coping or bring about changes in your thinking and behavior. Psychotherapy involves exploring feelings, beliefs, thoughts and events, sometimes from childhood, in a structured way to help you do it safely.
I have a website that has 16 courses on it for you to do self paced sessions. I also have book I wrote on that website. If you are interested in taking a look, just copy and paste the link into your search bar. Here is the website: https://amber-bersi-mft.mykajabi.com/
