Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) from California. I have been practicing for the past 8 years giving me experience working with a wide range of ages and populations. I have worked with clients in hospital, school, and private settings. I believe trust between a therapist and client is key for effective treatment. I enjoy helping individuals improve their quality of life.
In our first session together, we will review the scores from the assessments and intake to make sure it is an accurate reflection of what is going on. We will discuss the reasons that brought you into therapy and explore what you would like out of treatment.
My strengths as a provider come from my eight years of experience doing individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis management.
I enjoy working with clients who are eager to improve their lives. Clients who are receptive to guidance versus direction.
CBT can be a great method of treatment for people looking for "active" things to do as it provides a wide range of interventions and gives option for "homework" to do between sessions. CBT can be very effective modality for treating Depression and Anxiety.
As an LMFT, I believe our childhoods/family history impact our current lives in both positive and "not so positive" ways. Family therapy does not necessarily mean your family members are in your sessions, instead it is a lens you can use to gain insight and understanding into certain behaviors/attitudes/beliefs, etc.
As individuals we each have a unique story to tell, and I do not think there is a "one size fits all" method of treatment. Using an integrative approach, allows me to pull (interventions, concepts, ideas) from certain styles to make it fit my clients, rather than making a client fit a specific style.
Solution focused therapy is great for those individuals who are in the "action stage of change." People who are ready and willing to implement strategies to improve their lives.
