I have an appreciation for all people as unique individuals, with various types of life challenges.
Helping minds heal and lives transform has been a true reward of doing what I do in therapy. I am here to help you.
First session
In our first session, I will focus on learning your perspective of the challenges that brought you to therapy. There will be an exploration of your life, functional capacity, social aspects and your strengths. We will identify what you want to achieve through therapy.
Strengths
My greatest strengths are compassion, creativity, and helping people feel valued. Our current society can create pressure to present ourselves in a particular way in order to feel accepted, and that pressure can affect us at any age. Promoting self-worth, self-esteem, and a positive self-view is an important part of my work. I am also passionate about combating the stigma surrounding mental health and motivating people to prioritize their mental wellness. Just as we are intentional about caring for our physical health, we must also learn to “mind our minds”—paying attention to our emotional well-being, recognizing when we need support, and understanding that caring for our mental health is an important part of overall wellness.
Ideal clients
I work with diverse populations who bring a wide range of experiences, backgrounds, and therapeutic needs. I am committed to serving people who are ready to see meaningful change in their lives and who benefit from a collaborative approach—one where we are clear about what we are working toward, why it matters, and the steps we will take together to get there. I believe people can acknowledge their challenges without being defined by them. If you are looking for a therapeutic space where you can feel accepted, appreciated, motivated, and strengthened while working toward meaningful change, I may be the right therapist for you.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My therapeutic approach is integrative and individualized. I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to explore ambivalence, strengthen personal motivation, and support meaningful change. However, I believe therapy should fit the person—not require the person to fit a particular therapeutic model. Depending on the client’s needs, goals, experiences, and stage of treatment, I may incorporate interventions from DBT, emotional processing, trauma-focused therapy, Transactional Analysis, Family Systems Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches. Rather than focusing treatment solely on one modality, I draw from different therapeutic frameworks to create an approach that is responsive to the individual. This allows us to address symptoms and challenges while also exploring patterns, relationships, emotions, past experiences, strengths, and the changes the client wants to make in their life.
