LMFT, 10 years of experience
I approach life with curiosity and a sense of purpose. I have worked in the mental health field for the last 8 years from nonprofit organizations, outpatient substance abuse facilities, crisis on call agencies and the judicial system. Prior to my experience as a marriage and family therapist, I was a stand up comic. I try to bring humor into the room whenever possible as I believe laughter is the best medicine.
I create a light hearted environment, therapy does not always have to be serious, too often therapist create a space that is stuffy and where nothing grows. Therapy can be fun, my clients can expect an opportunity for growth and advancement when working with me.
Sense of humor, stability, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT and I love personality disorders
As a clinician I like to challenge my clients, push them a little more each time. I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach as I believe you can easily retrain the brain as simply as switching on a light. I have worked with every diagnosis you can think of from psychotic disorders to anxiety disorders. I am well versed in the mental health field and find excitement facilitating change with people.
I have a long history with CBT, I incorporate cognitive reframing through talk therapy
I am well versed in several different modalities and will incorporate multiple interventions through talk therapy

I am very happy to have found Matthew through Grow Therapy. He is very knowledgeable and has helped me greatly in my experience with him in our therapy session. He’s very easy to talk to and open up with, very real, and has a good sense of humor. I would recommend him to anyone going through narcissistic abuse, struggles with anxiety and ADHD.
