I utilize effective treatment methods, teach new coping skills, provide empathy, compassionate understanding and support during sessions with each individual clients, which in return has inspired them and improved their quality of life.
For the last 17 years, I have been collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds and supporting their mental health and wellness. Life can be challenging for everyone, for some more than for others. I am not here to tell you what to do but rather to empower you to make your own informed decisions, grow and heal. I can assist you identify tools you already have and learn new tools designed to support you in overcoming life challenges. It could be difficult to open up, but I provide a safe place where you can be yourself and feel accepted for who you are. Life happens to all of us, and all of us have the potential to heal and be resilient. I utilized multiple evidence-based practice treatment models (EBPs) and a person-centered, trauma-informed approach. I am here to help.
I work with adults who are carrying experiences that are hard to put into words — adoption, foster care histories, grief, trauma, anxiety, identity questions, cultural displacement, creative blocks, and complicated family relationships.
Many of my clients feel caught between worlds: between families, cultures, roles, languages, or versions of themselves. Some are adult adoptees or people connected to foster care. Some are artists, caregivers, or sensitive people who have learned to hold a lot quietly.
As an LMFT and Board Certified Art Therapist, I combine talk therapy with art therapy, somatic awareness, relational therapy, EMDR-informed work, and trauma-informed care. You do not need to be an artist to benefit from art therapy. Creative work can offer another way to notice and understand what may not be fully available through language.
I also bring lived experience as a transracial Latina adoptee, but our work centers you: your pace, your body, your relationships, and what you are ready to explore.
*I am currently accepting new clients through select insurance plans only.

Thank you for stopping by! A little about myself. I am a mother to three adult children, a Nana to 5 and dog mom to 2 Jack Russel's. I grew up in foster care and was adopted in my teens. That path led me through my own therapeutic journey as I struggled with depression and anxiety. Are you anxious or feel triggered easily. Traumatic experiences in life can lead to a nervous system that just won't calm down. It doesn't have to have been big T trauma to result in easily triggered reactions. Anything happens that your brain thinks is a threat or brings back old pain can cause triggers that set you nervous system off. It can also be the reason for that anxious feeling you have that is difficult to relieve.
The ability to calm your nerves is one of the most valuable skills for good mental health. I use mindfulness practices and breath work to help you retrain your nerves. Nervous system regulation is key to healing from trauma. A very useful tool to actually release trauma is ImTT or Image Transformation Therapy. ImTT uses imagery and the breath to release triggers and heal the nervous system. It does so in a safe and gentle way. Once triggers are released you can make choices based on what's happening now not a threat from the past. Your nervous system can calm down. Anxiety decreases. Mindfulness, somatic practices and other self-care tools are valuable additions to support the work. Together these things can gently and safely heal and reset the nervous system. I would love to share them with you to help you on your healing journey.
If this speaks to you reach out and schedule a time to meet. I would love to work with you.

I believe healing can be found in a variety of ways that are unique to each of us. Our identities, experiences, and stories shape who we are. I believe it is monumental to learn how all of our pieces intersect to create our authentic self. By understanding these, healing can be transformative.
I believe social justice work is a requirement for therapists. I believe you have a right to know about who you work with morally, ethically, and politically. I am progressive leaning and do what I can to support human rights and the social justice movements. As a white therapist, I believe it is a requirement for me to be engaged in social justice work along with consistent learning experiences.
By providing guidance, support, safety, and empowerment my main goals are to enhance the healing process and promote thriving. I want to create the safest space I can to support connection with your whole, authentic self.
In my sessions, I promote self-discovery, transformation, and self-compassion. I use techniques such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and IFS (Internal Family Systems). I believe using trauma centered, intersectional feminist, social justice, CRT, and Queer Theory perspectives are fundamental in therapy.
