Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you’ve been carrying a lot on your own for a long time. I believe therapy works best when you don’t have to pretend you’re okay or have everything figured out. Together, we create a space where you can show up honestly, make sense of your experiences, and explore meaningful change at a pace that feels grounded and supportive. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to your individual needs rather than a one-size-fits-all process.
Hi and thank you for your time to read about my background.
📘 Introduction
I have been providing mental health services as a psychotherapist and disaster mental health specialist for my entire adult life. Relationships with professors led to my first becoming a therapist as a twenty-one-year-old undergraduate student majoring in Community Service at University of Oregon. The majority of my career was working 23 years for the National Center for PTSD. Over the course of these years, I responded to a dozen Presidentially declared catastrophic events. Additionally, I created a therapy integrating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and meditation endorsed by a leading 20th century cognitive therapy psychologist who assisted the work being published in an international clinical journal dedicated to CBT. Retired from the federal government in 2013. Worked in Ukraine in 2014 and 2018 providing services to veterans and civilians in addition to teaching at universities in Kyiv, Lviv, and Rivine, and training Ukrainian mental health professionals throughout the country Provided pro bono remote clinical supervision for six years to Ukrainian psychologists. You don’t have to carry this alone. I’m a California-licensed therapist who supports adolescents, young adults, women, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds through stress, relationship dynamics, family conflicts, and trauma recovery. Whether you’re juggling academic pressure, caregiving, career pivots, or the weight of old wounds, I offer a steady, nonjudgmental presence. My style is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive—I honor the identities, histories, and values that shape who you are, and I approach our work with curiosity, humility, and respect.
Hi, I’m Shahnoor, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering decolonized, deeply insightful, trauma informed therapy for people who are ready to understand themselves more deeply, create meaningful change, and break out of a survival pattern.
My work goes beyond simply managing symptoms. Together, we explore the patterns, protective responses, inner child wounds, relationship dynamics, and inherited beliefs that may be shaping your life beneath the surface. Through deep insight, compassionate shadow work, and honest self exploration, we make space for the parts of you that have been silenced, abandoned, or forced to survive.
My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in the understanding that healing does not happen in isolation from identity, family, culture, power, or lived experience. Therapy with me is a space to untangle what belongs to you from what was imposed upon you, reconnect with your authentic self, and move through old wounds with greater clarity, self trust, and intention.
Therapy with me is not about fixing you. You are not broken. It is about meeting yourself more fully, understanding the wisdom beneath your defenses, and transforming the wounds and patterns that keep you disconnected from your power. Together, we can uncover the roots, honor the ways you learned to survive, and build a life that feels more aligned, liberated, and fully your own.
Hello! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I received my master's in 2014 and have been practicing for 11 years. I help adults manage their stressors in life and help them reduce their symptoms to be successful in their own life. I have experience working with children from 4 years old to older adults of the age of 80 years old.
I feel very fortunate to have grown up in the Bay Area, but never truly appreciated it until I left and came back. I attended high school in Marin at the Branson School in Ross. After High School I left for Wheaton College in Massachusetts where I earned a B.A. in Psychology. I moved to Florida where I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Prior to earning my Masters in Psychology I spent a number of years working in child and adolescent residential treatment centers in both San Francisco and Orlando, Florida. It was at this time that I fell in love with working with adolescents, adults, and their families. After graduate school, I found myself working for, and soon thereafter managing, an inpatient treatment program for adolescents who had experienced severe trauma.
I returned to California for good in 2011 where I started working as the Lead Therapist for the Adolescent Outpatient Program at Fremont Hospital. I opened a part time private practice in 2012 and transitioned to a full time practice in San Francisco in early 2013.

Hi, I’m Victoria Elena Lane, an LCSW in California. I provide inclusive, affirming care for Queer, Trans, BIPOC, and Women’s rights communities. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and also a first-generation immigrant and mother. My life experiences in decades-long work with multinationals, living in different countries, and raising my children in different cultures, have broadened and elevated my compassion and empathy for the uniqueness of each individual's suffering and pain. I know how overwhelming and uncomfortable life transitions can be, so I provide a safe and nurturing space to process issues and life changes with the goal of attaining joy and contentment.
I hold a deep belief in people's ability to create positive change in their lives and my humanistic approach focuses on supporting client's personal growth and improvement of their overall well-being. I am LGBTQ+ community as well as kink-, poly-, and gender affirming. I warmly invite individuals from all cultural backgrounds, body sizes, sexual orientations, and identities to explore and embark on the healing process with me.
You don’t have to struggle alone!
I believe therapy should feel like a safe, supportive place to slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of what you are carrying. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help clients gently explore the parts of themselves that may feel overwhelmed, stuck, protective, or hurt. My hope is that through our work together, clients feel less alone, more self-compassionate, and more able to move through life with greater clarity and ease.
In our hectic world we often find ourselves afraid to take risks that could jeopardize the stable lives we have created for ourselves. We remain in jobs, relationships and old patterns that no longer work, while symptoms such as anxiety, depression, stress, anger and self-defeating patterns keep us from making real changes to our lives.
If that sounds like you, you are stuck. We can feel lost and alone when we are unable to move forward, whether in work or a personal relationship. Therapy can help you break free of that and thrive.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a focus on teens, adults, and couples. I have worked with clients on concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and family reunification.
I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. I also minored in sociology.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California. I use a client-centered therapeutic approach, solution-focused, strength-based, and very supportive allowing my clients to find the answers within themselves. I have over 4 years of experience working at the Department of State Hospital as a Clinical Social Worker treating patients suffering from severe mental illness and 5 years working in all five of San Luis Obispo County Hospital's Emergency Departments, specializing in mental health crisis and stabilization.
My name is Dr. Sheilly Arora, and I have been a practicing psychologist for nearly 20 years. I genuinely love what I do and consider it a privilege to help people navigate life's challenges and improve their overall well-being.
I specialize in several evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression, anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, and PTSD. My primary clinical focus is **Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)**, the gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for chronic sleep difficulties. It is incredibly rewarding to see how transformative this approach can be, and I look forward to helping you achieve more restful sleep and a better quality of life if insomnia has been affecting you.
Originally from the East Coast, I completed both my internship and postdoctoral training in California and have proudly called it home ever since. I feel fortunate to live and work in a community where I can do meaningful work helping others every day.
This version reads naturally for a professional website, highlights your expertise in CBT-I, and conveys warmth without sounding overly formal. If your audience is primarily veterans or patients in a medical setting, I can also make it feel a bit more approachable and relatable.
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming — especially if you’ve spent years feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or trapped in unhealthy relationship patterns. You may be carrying the effects of trauma, chronic stress, people-pleasing, or narcissistic abuse while trying to hold everything together on the outside. If that sounds familiar, you are not alone, and healing is possible.
I work with adults and adolescents who struggle with anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, emotional overwhelm, relationship wounds, and the lasting impact of narcissistic or emotionally abusive partner or parent/childhood relationships. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in survival mode — constantly overthinking, walking on eggshells, questioning themselves, or feeling emotionally drained. Together, we work to help you feel safer in your body, more confident in your boundaries, and more connected to who you truly are.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in creating a space where you feel genuinely seen and understood without judgment. I believe therapy should feel supportive and empowering, not clinical or cold. I integrate evidence-based approaches while also focusing deeply on emotional safety, self-awareness, nervous system regulation, and practical tools you can use in everyday life.
Whether you are recovering from trauma, navigating difficult partner relationships, struggling with anxiety, or trying to rebuild your sense of self after emotional abuse, therapy can help you regain clarity, confidence, and peace. You do not have to continue carrying this alone.
Reaching out for help takes courage. If you’re ready to begin healing and creating healthier patterns, I’d be honored to support you.
