My approach integrates Person-Centered Expressive Arts Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness, DBT, CBT, motivational interviewing, active imagination, systems theory, and solution-focused therapy. I believe healing involves more than changing thoughts alone. Research on neuroplasticity shows the brain and nervous system can form new pathways throughout life, creating opportunities for meaningful emotional and behavioral change. Therapy can support not only insight, but also emotional regulation, self-compassion, nervous system balance, creativity, and resilience. I work collaboratively and compassionately, welcoming all parts of you into the therapeutic process. Together, we may explore thoughts, emotions, body awareness, imagination, patterns shaped by past experiences, and practical tools that support lasting growth and healing. You do not need to be “artistic” to benefit from expressive arts therapy.

Hello, I'm a licensed Clinical Psychologist based in California. I received my PsyD from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, and have been in private practice for the last seven years. My pre and post-doc training were in memory care, which combined my love of relational therapy and the practicality of neuropsychology. That training gave me a great basis to explore both the emotional world with my client and psychoeducation that can allow a client to understand better how they work as a whole person.

“In a world full of pressure to be anything but yourself, be a sunflower 🌻—rooted in who you are and always reaching toward the light.” — Lauresha Z. Hawkins, LCSW, MSW, MPH Hello! I’m Lauresha Hawkins, LCSW, MSW, MPH, Founder/CEO and Clinical Director of Mental Wellness University, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Inc. I am licensed to provide therapy in California and Alaska and serve as an independent provider with Grow Therapy. I support youth, Transitional Age Youth (TAY), adults, mature adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, substance use concerns, perinatal mental health, family conflict, sports performance, and major life transitions, including the transition from high school to college. Trust, authenticity, mutual respect, and rapport are central to my work. My approach is eclectic, trauma-informed, collaborative, and individualized because therapy is never one-size-fits-all. I believe treatment should reflect who you are, what you have experienced, what you value, and what you hope to change. I bring more than 15 years of social work experience, including eight years providing mental health services as an associate and licensed clinician. My background includes residential treatment, outpatient care, managed care, foster care systems, and psychiatric hospitals. My communication style is warm, genuine, adaptable, direct, and grounded in active listening, honesty, accountability, and humor when appropriate. I am passionate about serving vulnerable and historically underserved communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals, student-athletes, and those navigating co-occurring conditions. Although I value my role as an educator, I also remain a lifelong student. I believe every person who crosses my path has something to teach me. Together, we will create a space where you can feel seen, heard, respected, supported, and safely challenged as you continue growing into who you are. www.mentalwellnessuniversityinc.com

If you are a client of Kaiser Permanente, it is necessary to obtain a referral from Kaiser before proceeding. Once you have received the referral, Kaiser will provide you with a link to schedule a session with me. I specialize in helping individuals as they navigate grief, anxiety, depression, anger, relationship challenges, and behavioral concerns. I understand that these struggles are not just diagnoses—they are lived experiences that can quietly shape how you see yourself, how you connect with others, and how you move through your day. Anxiety can feel like a constant hum in the background—keeping you on edge, overthinking, and emotionally worn down. Many people carry it for years without realizing how much it’s impacting their relationships and sense of peace. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to keep managing it by yourself. Depression is often misunderstood because it doesn’t always look like sadness. Sometimes it feels like exhaustion, numbness, irritability, or simply going through the motions without feeling connected to your life. It can make even the smallest tasks feel heavy. But depression is treatable, and with the right support, it is possible to feel like yourself again. In our work together, I offer a space where you can be seen, heard, and understood—without judgment. My goal is not only to help you cope, but to help you reconnect with yourself, find clarity in what you’re feeling, and build a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and yours.

In our work together, we’ll utilize a variety of simple and accessible techniques catering to your needs for self-improvement, some of which may include changing problematic thoughts and behaviors, increasing acceptance and awareness toward self, building up your resiliency "tool box" to navigate complex emotions, and addressing any internal or relational roadblocks. I work with patients looking for support with stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, inattention, life transitions, and relationship issues. I have dedicated my clinical work to supporting people to believe that they have innate wisdom and internal resources to support themselves toward healing. I believe healing begins with feeling truly seen, heard, and accepted. My role is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself, explore what you are going through, and move at a pace that feels right for you. My own life experiences, combined with my education and professional work in social work and mental health, have taught me the importance of meeting each person as an individual. I bring empathy, curiosity, and authenticity to my work, and I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. I work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, ages, and life experiences, including those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, major life transitions, and relationship or identity-related challenges. I draw on evidence-informed approaches and adapt my work to each person's needs, rather than believing that one approach fits everyone. Having lived in different countries and being fluent in English, Farsi, and German, I understand how culture, migration, identity, and life experiences can shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us. Most importantly, I see therapy as a collaborative process. You bring your story and your experience; I bring my professional knowledge, experience, and genuine commitment to supporting you. Together, we can work toward greater understanding, healing, and a life that feels more meaningful to you.

I was a teacher for many years, then went for my masters in social work. Life has many twists and turns. Sometimes we can feel off balance or are suffering from depression or anxiety. We’ve all had our ups and downs and getting back on track and feeling our best is a goal I enjoy helping people achieve to live the life they want. Are your coping skills no longer working? Are you tired of being the emotional project manager in your relationships? Do you stay calm on the outside while mentally writing resignation letters from your relationships? **Could you BE any more overwhelmed? (Chandler’s voice)** Well, hello—I’m really glad you’re here. If you’re someone who looks capable on the outside but feels stretched thin, overwhelmed, or quietly exhausted on the inside, you’re in the right place. I’m Katrina, a Christian therapist who works with high-achieving individuals navigating relationship shifts, workplace stress, and the pressure of holding it all together. My work blends evidence-based approaches like Compassion-Focused Therapy and CBT with faith-centered values  and scripture references, creating a space where you don’t have to choose between emotional healing and your beliefs. And yes, I believe therapy can be meaningful without feeling painfully serious all the time. If you appreciate a well-timed *Friends*, *The Office*, *Parks and Recreation*, or *Brooklyn Nine-Nine* reference, we’ll probably get along just fine. Sometimes humor helps us feel human, breathe a little deeper, and make space for the harder conversations. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you slow down, untangle the mental noise, and reconnect with who you are beneath all the expectations and responsibilities. This is a place where you can stop performing, be honest, laugh when you need to, and feel supported as you move toward clarity, peace, and purpose. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands both your ambition and your faith—and who won’t mind the occasional pop-culture reference—I’d love to walk alongside you. Let’s turn survival mode into sustainable growth and help you feel grounded, confident, and hopeful again. Schedule an appointment today, and let’s take the next step together.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15+ years of experience supporting individuals in their mental health journey. My work focuses primarily on helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, and life stressors. I often work with individuals experiencing burnout, major life transitions, relationship stress, work-related stress, and patterns of overthinking that can make daily life feel overwhelming. My goal is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly and begin making meaningful changes. I believe therapy should be collaborative and tailored to each person’s unique needs. Together, we will explore patterns, thoughts, and experiences that may be contributing to anxiety, stress, or low mood while also developing practical tools to help you cope more effectively. I’m a 30 yr old who loves staying active...whether that’s going on runs, getting outside for hikes, or spending time at home with my cat. I love to be someone who can motivate others and serve as a strong, steady anchor during difficult times. I bring that same grounded, real-life energy into my work, creating a space that feels comfortable, supportive, and easy to show up in. Through my own life experiences, I’ve learned how to cope with challenging transitions and navigate relationship struggles, which allows me to show up in a genuine and grounded way with my clients. I’m passionate about helping young women navigate anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, and relationship struggles. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start, just showing up is enough. Together, we focus on building self-worth, setting healthy boundaries, and helping you feel more confident, grounded, and aligned in your life and relationships.

I think of therapy as part detective work, part puzzle: laying out the pieces of a life and tracing the threads between things that never seemed connected until you see them side by side. I believe a good clinician is a moldable one, someone who adapts to the person in front of them rather than fitting people into a fixed approach. My work is collaborative, insight-oriented, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on yourself. Together, we explore the patterns, stories, and relational blueprints that shaped how you see yourself and the world, and we work to rewrite the ones that no longer serve you. I work with individuals and couples across the lifespan, and I am proudly affirming of the LGBTQIA+, kink, and BDSM communities. I specialize in trauma, identity, depression, anxiety, relationships, and sexual health, and I bring the same nonjudgmental, culturally humble approach to every client I see. I also offer faith-integrated counseling for those who wish to bring spirituality into their healing. Whether you arrive ready to dive in or full of resistance, I'll meet you where you are. I am bilingual and bicultural, and I welcome clients who move between both languages and worlds.

Emotions are the language of energy. In this language, there are critical messages to be understood. Emotions communicate what your needs are. Your mind translates this information so that needs can be met. Sometimes, it feels unsafe to acknowledge your emotions so the intellect, instead, pushes emotions down. With emotions silenced, you become deprived of connection to yourself, to others and needs go unmet. In this deprivation, you also lose authenticity. The call to acknowledgement returns, again and again, louder and louder. We can collaborate together to learn this language and to recover the gold of your authentic self. Its already there, where it has always been. Who you really are is full of potential, courageous, confident and quite worthy of connection. When you know this, there is an energy that arises as well. A motivation for action. Wherever you are at on this journey, is where I want to meet you. What a victory that you have already taken the brave step of searching for a therapist. Celebrate that. Perhaps the next movement is to reach out. We can explore next incremental steps from there.
