New to Grow
I am a LMFT, focusing on assisting clients with reframing their ideas about themselves and how they see the world. I offer a safe space for client's to feel heard and their feelings validated. I hold certificates in Trauma Treatment, Cultural competence and Sensitivity in the LGBTQ community, Cultural Responsiveness, and Grief Treatment. As a cancer survivor, I have worked with clients in the cancer community, clients struggling with focus and ADHD, and those on the Autism Spectrum who are high functioning in the college/university community.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can expect to feel heard in a non-judgemental space .
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My experience in environments where a client can feel hopeless, such as chronic illness and anxiety, can lead to a greater ability for them to function at school, work, and in their home settings.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with clients who have the mindset in which they are open to change. I work with the client to establish goals which will bring about change for a positive trajectory in their lives.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My experience with this treatment method is that it offers a collaboration between the client and the therapist. The client goal is to identify experiences which have lead to a thought pattern, which affects their mood, inhibits positive behaviors, and can manifest into physical symptoms as well.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I use this when the client has difficulty accepting change as a part of growth. The client must be made aware of their emotions and how to regulate them as part of an agent of change. I guide the client into facing their emotions, and make use of them productively.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I have used this treatment method for client's who want to access their strengths and resources, and not necessarily want to visit family systems. I work as a "coach" who wants to find solutions to a problem, not discovering the cause of the problem.
