Hi, I’m Jessica Shivers, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 13 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families through life’s challenges.
My passion for helping others began in the 11th grade when I took my first psychology class. I became fascinated by how people grow, heal, and overcome difficult experiences. Over the past 13 years, I’ve worked in community mental health, agency social work, intensive treatment foster care, case management, and behavioral health services supporting individuals and families navigating a wide range of life challenges. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the real-life obstacles people face and the resilience they bring to the healing process.
As a wife, mother of two young children, and bonus mom to a preteen, I understand firsthand the joys, stressors, and complexities that come with balancing family, work, relationships, and personal well-being. My name is Neha, and I use she/her pronouns. I have been practicing as a therapist for the past four years and am passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience. My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by my own experiences of immigration and adapting to a new culture. Growing up in a community-oriented country, I deeply valued the sense of connection and belonging that surrounded me. After moving to the United States, I became more aware of how meaningful those connections can be and was inspired to create that same sense of support and understanding for others. This experience continues to guide my work as I strive to provide a compassionate, collaborative space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported in their growth. In my free time I like to go on hikes, try the newest Matcha spot in town, and learn different languages.
Congratulations! You have taken the first steps in the journey to your goal(s). I am extremely grateful you are considering me to partner up with. I consider my relationships as instrumental in learning who I am. The relationships that most speak to who I am include being a spouse, father, brother, son, colleague, and friend. Hi. My psychotherapy practice serves individual adults who feel stuck in old, negative patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior caused by childhood trauma. My perspective is that emotional childhood trauma (with or without physical trauma) can have a lifelong impact on the ability of people to like, accept, and have compassion for themselves; to feel personal and social competence; to feel, express, and regulate their emotions; to be vulnerable, honest, and communicative in relationships; to take risks at work and in relationships; and to find meaning, satisfaction, and joy in life. If you have struggled for years to function in one or more of these areas due to identifiable childhood trauma, you are welcome to set up an initial appointment. Prior to the appointment, it's best that we speak on the phone to determine if we are a good match. Please be aware that I do not accept clients who suffer from primary anxiety, depression or OCD unrelated to childhood trauma. There are plenty of good, competent therapists on GROW who will help you with those issues.

I understand how difficult it can be to seek help, especially when struggling with the fear of being seen as weak or facing the stigma that often surrounds mental health and substance use. Hi! My name is Ana Maria. I received my master's degree in social work from California State University of Long Beach. I have been practicing social work for the last 17 years. I have worked with adults going through depression and anxiety by providing support and discussing coping skills that can help them improve their mood, relationships and quality of life. I also collaborate with clients helping them to identify clients' strengths and resources to solve their problems.
Please note that I am currently not able to complete any letters, reports or forms including but not limited to leave of absence and FMLA.
Reaching out for help can be a very vulnerable experience, but also a great attribute of strength and resilience. I work with individuals who have experienced trauma in their life. Whether it's from childhood neglect, sexual assault, natural disaster, sudden death or other life circumstances. Trauma often creates patterns and loops that extend into many areas of a person's life, and can be challenging and painful to navigate. Sometimes the way people survive their trauma brings them more pain, adds to the chaos, and reinforces negative beliefs that perpetuate the cycle. I work to empower clients to understand and alter unhealthy cycles to strengthen and better their lives.
I am fluent in ASL American Sign Language and have worked with Deaf clients leaving domestic violence in both a shelter and outpatient therapy services. I have spent 2 years in correctional settings working with severely mentally ill patients and supporting their family members navigating having children with mental illness. I have also spent 2 years working with foster youth and foster parents in providing support to their placements, promoting healing and preserving relationships.
Note that online scheduling is limited. Broader scheduling options will be available to regularly scheduling clients. Please also note that I do not provide opinions about disability or fitness to return to work or other activities for clients who are not well-established at the time that the request for such opinion is made.
