My name is Ben Meyer, I am originally from the Midwest (Ohio) and I moved to Arizona in 2012. I also have a Master's degree in philosophy and like to understand behavior in a social context. I feel well educated about how trauma works in the individual, and how it can perpetuate conflict as an adult, and I would be happy to help you understand more about how it might impact you.
I am able to ask pointed questions in order to better understand what mental health symptoms you might struggle with in particular. I also like to review what you can expect from therapy with me in particular, and to set up some treatment plan goals during the first hour.
I think that I am efficient and knowledgeable as a provider so that I can help be more empathetic to your unique experience and offer ideas and help to better understand patterns of behavior that are useful as a means to help support your experiences.
Do you find yourself wondering why you do what you do? Repeating the same patterns? You are not alone. In my practice, I'll guide you to learn why these things occur and what you can do to change them. We’ll take a deep dive into your childhood and reconcile the experiences you had then with the ones you’re having now. We'll take a look at how your awareness is shaped by these kinds of powerful forces and help you get to point where you can start making the types of decisions you can feel proud of.

Understanding the dynamics at play in our environments can help focus treatment on using particularly practical elements in treatment such as conflict resolution, I statements, and in being more assertive.
