Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona. I received my Masters in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois Springfield. I have been working with individuals for 6 years. I help adults learn to empower themselves and take control of their lives through various modalities of therapy. I believe that the main focus of therapy should center around the therapeutic relationship.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My goal in our first session, is to build our relationship and meet you where you are in your healing journey. In our first session, you and I will work to identify and discuss life stressors that are affecting you. I will help you to identify current patterns that may be rooted in past adverse life experiences. This will create a sense of understanding and in turn create more self-compassion.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

After working in a variety of settings I have gained the skills to help you build a relationship with yourself, and strengthen the inner wisdom to become your true self.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is a great modality to help individuals become "unstuck" when they experience a plateau in therapy. While EMDR therapy has a primary purpose to help people heal from the effects of trauma, it can also help with panic attacks, generalized anxiety disorder, phobias, and social anxiety. This is one of my favorite modalities to use because of its effectiveness and flexibility. While I am trained in EMDR therapy, I continually seek EMDR consultation to provide my clients with the utmost service.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As humans, we typically experience thoughts that shift between "all or nothing", "positive or negative", "good or bad", "black or white". DBT is a form of talk therapy that can help to neutralize the intense feelings we experience when rapidly shifting between opposing thoughts. DBT is grounded in both mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. DBT was originally created to help with personality disorders, however, I have found it pair nicely with preparation phases of EMDR therapy. My main use of DBT is to help clients prepare for the reprocessing phases of EMDR therapy.
