Hi my name is Denise Warren, I'm an LPC in the state of Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. I have a Bachelors Degree in Social Work through New Mexico Highland’s University and a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling. I have over 20 years of clinical experience across a variety of settings including, crisis intervention, inpatient psychiatric and correctional behavioral health treatment. I also have a broad range of clinical experience helping individuals to overcome Depression and Anxiety Disorders, Self-Harm Behavior, Grief, Anger and Stress Management and Trauma.
In the first session we focus on getting to know each other. This includes personal and family history, prior treatment and identifying goals. You tell me what's going on and why you're seeking treatment at this time. We then design a treatment plan to help you move in the direction you want to go.
Compassion and no judgement are my biggest strengths. I've worked with several client's who are so hard on themselves and one of my biggest goals is to help them become empowered, see their own humanness and have grace for themselves, no matter what the obstacle.
I love working with adults to help them overcome obstacles and see things from a different perspective. When they become empowered it brings more joy and self-acceptance into their lives.

We all experience grief at some point in our lives and for a variety of reasons. I've worked with several clients to help them come to terms with the loss of loved ones, loss of relationships and the loss of expectation which can include many things. We work on recognizing the process of grief as well as how we maintain our lives with the emptiness and disappointment and move towards a place regaining a sense of normalcy and hope.
Reality therapy is a type of counseling that helps people improve their lives by learning to make better choices and take responsibility for their actions. It was developed by Dr. William Glasser and is based on the idea that people can control how they think and behave, and that these choices can help or hinder them from achieving their goals. As your therapist we will work on identifying the choices you can make to have more joy and satisfaction in your own life.
Strength-based therapy is a type of positive psychotherapy and counseling that focuses on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather than on your weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings. We can work together to build on your best qualities, find your strengths, improve resilience, and change your worldview to one that is more positive. The goal will be to discover the inner strengths you can tap into in order to build solutions.
