I'm Nicole, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Arizona, originally from Wisconsin. I received my masters from Argosy University-Phoenix and undergraduate in Tennessee. I have been practicing for 14 years. I am passionate about helping clients move from being stuck to being successful in every area of their lives. I've worked with clients who struggle with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, anger, life transitions, trauma, mood instability, family separation, juvenile incarceration, and other issues. I look forward to working with you on your healing journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

At the first sessions we will go over introductions and expectations of you and me. I would want to know what has and has not worked in the past as it related to your treatment history. I'd like to explore what the main concerns are and develop a plan to address the concerns. Lastly, I provide psychoeducation on the therapeutic process as well as your presenting concerns.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am confident in helping you establish and implement healthy boundaries with those in your life. Striving to be a non-judgmental support in your journey is my goal, as well as helping you connect the dots of life. I provide a warm environment and a safe place to do the work you need to do to live a peaceful life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am passionate about working with pre-teens to young adults. I'm also enjoy working with adults struggling with life transitions and interpersonal issues, or anyone who needs someone to actively listen and provide feedback. I am able to assist clients with exploration and application of coping skills, and clients that have a willingness to move from the past.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Negative thought patterns can keep people feeling stuck. I help clients understand that thoughts are not facts and with the right skills, thoughts can be more productive, helping one feel more in charge of their thoughts and emotions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Life gets hard and can cause intense pain and emotions. I help clients walk through emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, being more mindful, and toleration of stressful situations. In a supportive role, I help clients identify triggers and unhealthy behaviors and replace them with more effective means of coping.

Christian Counseling

Faith is something that many hold to in difficult circumstances. I incorporate a faith-based perspective to those who identify with the Christian faith, and skill building with a foundation of Biblical principles.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

For some, therapy doesn't have to be a long process. Most, with a supportive approach get what they need in a short time. Turning one's attention to what can be done is more promising than focusing on the past. I help guide clients to resolutions in a non-judgmental stance.

Motivational Interviewing

Change is hard and because of this, some are hesitant to make the first step. I help clients explore those barriers and work through ambivalence to succeed in life.
