In the first session we will examine your medical/social history as well as any life stressors which contribute to a negative head space or behaviors not leading to the desired outcome/goals in life. I also examine the client's perspective on life and values/morals of importance. Finally, we look at what short and long term goals are and how to get there through therapy homework.
I appreciate meeting the client where they are in the process of greater self discovery and admire the willingness to be open and vulnerable in reaching out. I enjoy meeting new people and being a supportive factor in improving quality of life.
I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to assist clients with discovering what maladaptive thought patterns lead to behaviors not serving them the best and how to replace them with positive ones. I implement mindfulness in regulating mood.
