What to Expect in our first session: During our first session I will use part of the session typically the first part to ask you some standard questions that are part of my methodology that I use to get a bigger picture perspective of you and your life and more information that will be helpful with having more context with helping you working towards developing more insight. Obviously we are going to address your concerns too in our first session so I appreciate your patience with the first part of the session where I need to ask some questions that will be useful and essential. * Important: Before your first session filling the "Inake Form" out completly is required as information such as emergency contact is required in order for me to be able to work with you. It is also required by insurance providers. Thank you

James Hunter LPC LCDC offers therapy covered by UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Texas.
I use Cognitive & Behavioral Psychotherapies to address issues with insight and promoting adaptive skills and tools to achieve healthier outcomes with regard to mood disorders, adjustment disorders, relationships, existential issues, purpose & meanining and more.
A significant part of psycotherapy is helping you to be able to understand the connection between your thoughts/beliefs and how they influence your emotions which in turn influence your behaviors. This is a key component of promoting and developing insight into yourself and behaviors.
I approach therapy from a Holistic view that considers the bigger picture of health with all domains of a person's life/health: Mental, Emotional, Physical, Social, Spiritual, Environmental, & Occupational or sense of purpose. I help individual gain insight into how systemically all the domains of their life contribute to their overall health and therefore all systems need to be assessed and treated as necessary to promote a better prognosis for health.
Many individuals struggle with existential issues with regard to what the purpose and meaning of their life is. I help people consider their values and their life with regard to living a life that reflects what is meaningful and supports what they value.
