Hi there, I'm Tonya. Do you feel like you need someone to talk to but feel like no one understands you? Carl Rogers said, “We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. I am committed to creating a space where the client feels seen and heard. I have a unique counseling style that allows clients to quickly engage in the therapeutic process. Helping clients find a deeper understanding of themselves is my focus. I guide the client through their journey of self-awareness with cognitive restructuring combined with a person-centered approach. Do you feel overwhelmed and mentally depleted? Our thoughts, emotions, and behavior are guided by our internal compass. Sometimes we need to check our compass and make sure we are going in the right direction. This internal compass is the lens through which we see ourselves, and the world and influences our decisions. A shift in the thought process opens the door for healing and clarity of thought. I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can gain the self-awareness you need to work through your struggles and move forward with your life. Let's work together!

I am passionate about doing something that matters in the world with the skills I have and I choose to focus that passion on the relationships I have with my clients. I want to understand my client's perspective, life, and motivation and even help them discover those things for themselves. I do this through conversations that help us build trust and explore thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. I also focus on tangible solutions when possible, as well as emotional management and skill building. In the simplest terms, I want to be someone who can listen without judgement and care without expectation.

Since becoming a counselor, I have worked in a variety of community counseling settings. I have worked with clients from ages 3 through 80 and with individuals, couples, and families. With that breadth of experience, very little shocks or surprises me and I have gotten a pretty good sense of where the types of counseling that play to my strengths as a counselor overlap with the types of counseling that are helpful for my clients. This sense (along with learning about lots and lots of research into what helps people find and maintain mental health) has led to the following guiding principles that shape all the counseling I do: 1) The client is always in charge. I know a lot of things but you will always be the one who decides what you want to get out of counseling, how we work towards that goal, whether or not what we’re doing seems to be working, and when we’re done. 2) Change and health happen through relationships. No matter what you come in for, there are always relational implications of change and relational factors that contribute to whatever it is that you came to counseling to change. 3) Counseling should be efficient. Counseling has significant costs in time and money. I think the benefits far outweigh the costs but if I can give you the benefits while helping you save on the costs then I want to do that.

Clients shouldn't have to be in therapy forever! Together, we'll co-create a balanced approach combining active listening with practical techniques, helping you reclaim your narrative and overcome obstacles. My clinical and holistic approach aims for deeper alignment and fulfillment—think more water, less soda. As an LCSW, I'm trained in EMDR, certified in Theta Healing, Reiki, Transformational Life Coaching, and Therapeutic Touch, and am a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy, and Time Line Therapy. I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space to explore your wants, needs, and emotions. You know yourself best, and our work is about uncovering your truths rather than imposing mine. Together, we'll determine the tools and approaches that best suit your needs, ensuring you feel heard, validated, and empowered. The goal is to help you confidently manage challenges independently over time. We'll walk side-by-side, with you gradually taking the lead and me offering steady support. If you have pressing concerns, those always take precedence. Our sessions focus on understanding HOW you think, not just WHAT you think, exploring both conscious and unconscious beliefs and emotions. You'll leave with clear, actionable steps, such as mindfulness exercises, creative writing prompts, meditation, and breathwork techniques to regulate emotions and reclaim your narrative. Therapy isn't about fixing what's "broken" but enhancing alignment and fulfillment while overcoming obstacles. By focusing on your goals and measuring progress, we can eliminate stigma, leaving shame behind and empowering you toward greater self-awareness and fulfillment.

I also have School Counseling and Teaching degrees, with 19 years experience working at various levels and positions within the public school system supporting kids of all ages, parents, and staff members. I am also a wife and a mom. Life can be really hard and mental health can complicate things, and I know personally what a big step it is and how overwhelming it can be to look into counseling options for yourself or your child--trust me, it is well worth your time and efforts! While I have no magic wand, I am a great listener, known to be trusted and reliable, easy to talk and relate to, and well trained and experienced with multiple therapy modes. With my experience as a school mental health professional at various levels, I have supported kids and their parents through many issues and hardships that they have faced including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, anger, and school problems. During COVID, I became well versed with providing counseling in a virtual environment, and I am able to adjust and incorporate interactive activities with kids to keep it engaging, while at the same time focus on therapeutic goals. I also have special training (and personal experience as a foster/adopt parent) to work with kids/adults who have experienced trauma. As a wife/mom, I am relatable and have personal and professional experience to provide counseling to women going through various struggles, roadblocks, and hardships. If you would like to incorporate your personal faith into counseling, please let me know, and we can make that as much of a priority as you would like.

Hi, I’m Kumalo—Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), behavioral health leader, and Army veteran with over 20 years of experience helping individuals overcome challenges and reconnect with their strengths. My therapeutic style is structured, grounded, and compassionate. I use evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and EMDR to support adults navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship struggles. I work with individuals who are often juggling high-pressure careers, caregiving responsibilities, or the complex aftermath of traumatic experiences, especially military service members and veterans. You might feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re operating on autopilot. Together, we’ll slow things down, clarify your goals, and build practical strategies for healing, growth, and renewed purpose. Therapy with me is collaborative: I’ll challenge your thinking while also giving you the space to reflect, reframe, and rebuild. I earned my Master of Social Work from Fayetteville State University and am board-certified in Clinical Social Work. Before joining SonderMind, I led behavioral health programs across military and correctional settings—designing systems of care that work. Now, I bring that same level of commitment to every client I serve. If you're ready to start showing up for yourself the way you've always shown up for others, let’s connect. Hello, I am Margie, Do you ever feel like there is not enough time in the day? Are you increasingly feeling off (meaning, that you know something is going on that is causing a disconnect but you are not sure what it is)? I assist people with finding/repairing their focus on what is most important to them in order to avoid/lessen burnout. Together we can identify what is not working and develop a plan for how to address the areas of disconnection. Together we will work as a partnership to develop strategies to create "a present and future that makes you feel more fulfilled." In addition to focusing on the mind, body soul connection, I also integrate mindfulness, music and art to help you improve yourself. Throughout life's twists and turns, I am here to help. Seeking therapy is a huge step and for various reasons, many people do not. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can take ownership of "what I want, what I need and where I want to go."
