’ve felt called to become a therapist since I was nine years old, and that sense of purpose has stayed with me ever since. I began my career in a community mental health setting, where I worked closely with individuals experiencing severe mental illness and learned the importance of practical, real-life coping skills. That experience continues to shape my approach today—I focus on helping clients build insight, develop tools they can actually use, and feel more confident navigating their relationships and daily lives. Outside of therapy, I enjoy slowing things down and staying grounded through gardening, crocheting, and camping. I’m also a big reader—especially when it comes to romance novels. Family is a central part of my life, and I value the many roles I hold as a wife, mother, stepmother, and grandmother. Raising both boys and girls—including twins—has given me a wide range of life experiences that help me connect with clients from all kinds of backgrounds.

Hi there, I'm Parag. You were not put here on this earth to suffer. You deserve to live your life with happiness and peace of mind. Mental illness and addiction can rob anyone of these precious gifts. When you turn to family and friends for support, often they don't know what to say or how to help. You can end up feeling very alone in the world. No one wants to develop mental illness or addictions. You didn't do anything wrong. Feeling emotionally numb, mentally overwhelmed, or having thoughts like "I just don't want to be on this earth anymore" are not things that people willingly choose for themselves. They are illnesses. We often get sick through no fault of our own. Just like some people get diabetes or heart disease, some people get mental illness. Working over five years in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, I have helped patients overcome symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, phobias, relationship problems, and self-esteem issues. My approach is to get to know you as a person and work on addressing what is really going on with your mind and your life right now. I know getting therapy can be scary, but I will do everything I can to help you feel heard, understood, and genuinely cared for. Give yourself a chance to have peace of mind again.

My career started as a classroom teacher and school counselor. I currently have over 20 years of experience working with students and families. In addition to my school counseling career, I am a crisis clinician in a major hospital in the DFW metroplex and work in over 32 emergency rooms providing on-call patient care. We all face unexpected challenges which sometimes leave us feeling hopeless and powerless. I believe that we have the ability to make healthy and appropriate choices regardless of the circumstances in which we may find ourselves. My role as a therapist is to assist and support clients as they learn new ways of coping and adjusting to life’s challenges. Counseling will vary depending upon one’s personality, stage of life, strengths or particular concern. Getting started can feel overwhelming. You have no idea where to even begin. You’ve been putting off therapy because you’re afraid it won’t help. More than anything you’d like to be able to feel happy again. You’d like to be able to put yourself out there more and to create deeper, more meaningful relationships with others. You want to have the courage to be your authentic self without hiding behind a mask.

At the Child & Adult Behavior Center, we help both adults and children, as well as parents. For adults, we help you find ways to cope with stress, anxiety, loss and depression. Not only talking through and understanding, but also concrete "what to do about it" coping skills, lead to calmer, more stable emotions and relationships. We find cognitive behavioral therapy very useful, and within that, learning the skills of mindfulness, a form of in-the-moment meditative thinking, to calm and focus the mind when emotions overtake. This fosters a new way of viewing and handling stressful situations as they arise. For children's therapy, we work with you, and with your child. Parents' feedback is a critical part of helping children feel and do better. We help you with parent-child interactions to find your way as you navigate the seas of child behavior. Our specializations are the treatment for Aspergers/autism, ADHD, Oppositional Defiance, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, emotional self regulation, the behavioral and emotional aspects of sensory issues, anxiety and depression. Our special programs also treat a wide range of neuroatypical, developmentally challenged children. Neuro-typical parent-child relationships, family relations, and parenting issues for all children and teens are also our focus. We help - you help your child - with ideas and techniques to put into action. Ideas that can greatly reduce the stress and storm of being a parent in the trenches. Peace in the home is possible!

Greetings Beloved Clients! I am Pam C. Lyons, a Certified Professional Coach and Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor for 15 years, and 20 plus years of life experience. I understand what it means to reinvent and rebuild my life several times as a Hurricane Katrina Survivor and as a businesswoman. My practice serves as a safe place to the Texas community and a beacon of light. The slogan “Reinvent the World” was inspired by all the shared traumatic experiences going on in the world due to Covid 19, increase in mental and physical health problems, racism, toxic politics, lack of safety for our children, poverty, economic challenges, women not receiving equal pay, women rights being infringed upon, and survivors of natural disasters. We need a space to express our traumatic experiences safely, to be listened to and understood with empathy and compassion, and to receive coping tools to become the best version of ourselves so we can create a better world for our future generations.

Fun fact: Rooted & Renewed Counseling is an assignment; I was minding my business working my regular full time gig & God decided to call me back to Christian counseling—this time focused specifically on serving women. Talk about a plot twist! I’m grateful for the opportunity to blend clinical interventions and biblical truth, because it’s 1000% okay to love Jesus and have a therapist. P.S. if you have questions about your faith—or you’re feeling angry at, disappointed with, or disconnected from God—you’re welcome here too! My approach to counseling is holistic and authentic. Show me the screenshots. Tell me the things you’ve never said out loud. Bring all the thoughts, worries, and struggles that take up space in your mind and heart. I’ll meet you with compassion, humor, clinical expertise, biblical truth, and gentle challenges along the way. I help women who are experiencing: Life Transitions * Young adulthood * Career changes * Marriage * Pregnancy and motherhood * Caring for aging parents Relationship & Family Concerns * Marriage/Premarital * Divorce and separation * Parenting challenges * Family boundaries * People-pleasing Emotional & Mental Health * Anxiety * Depression * Stress * Grief * Low self-worth * Emotional regulation Work & Achievement-Related Concerns * Work-life balance * Career stress * Burnout Faith & Personal Growth * Finding purpose * Boundaries * Resting * Growing in Faith It would be an honor to walk alongside you in this season of your life. Let’s do this!

I’m not a passive therapist—I’m a guide, a witness, and a fierce believer in your healing. With nearly three decades of clinical experience, I help individuals and couples move out of survival mode and into real, lasting transformation. My work is direct, trauma‑informed, and deeply present. If you’re ready for honest, grounded therapy that actually changes your life, I’m here I draw from CBT, DBT, somatic therapy, attachment-focused work, EMDR principles, and the Gottman Method. I integrate evidence‑based tools with intuition, nervous system awareness, and relational depth. Healing isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about remembering what has always been strong, sacred, and whole. What It’s Like to Work With Me I’m warm, grounded, and radically present. I don’t sit back and nod; I’m engaged. I help you understand your patterns quickly, regulate your nervous system, and build emotional safety within yourself and your relationships. You don’t have to carry your pain alone. I’m here to walk with you through the hard parts and help you build a life that feels steady, honest, and aligned. Who I Work Best With My clients are cycle‑breakers—smart, self‑aware people who are exhausted from repeating emotional patterns that no longer fit who they’re becoming. They want more clarity, more connection, more self‑respect, and more peace. They’re ready to stop abandoning themselves, stop settling for draining relationships, and start communicating with honesty instead of reactivity. Treatment Goals Clients learn to regulate their nervous system, heal attachment wounds, rebuild trust in themselves, and create relationships that feel reciprocal and safe. Couples repair connection, reduce conflict, and rebuild emotional intimacy. Individuals become grounded, confident, and capable of choosing relationships and environments that honor their worth. If you’re ready to begin, I’m here.

I know making the first appointment can be hard and scary. I hope to talk to you soon. My areas of expertise are in Anxiety, Depression, Women Issues, Life Transition, Christian Counseling and Self-Esteem issues. I use a Eclectic and Holistic approach to help my clients bring out the best in themselves. I like to use humor, challenging questions, and a warm open-minded approach. Selecting a therapist can be difficult because it's not easy to know exactly who you are getting. "Will this person really know what she is talking about? Will she actually be able to help me?" These questions are the norm for clients and uncertainty comes with the territory of what you are searching for. I hope that you become a better and stronger you.
