At 10:23 I understand the importance of cultivating resilience and fostering healthy relationships to achieve our best life. Therapy doesn’t work when clients feel talked down to, rushed, or misunderstood. Many teens and adults I work with have tried therapy before and felt it didn’t really fit.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, I bring both clinical training and lived experience into the therapy room. This allows me to connect in a way that feels genuine, grounded, and practical—especially for teens and young adults who are skeptical of therapy or unsure where to start.

Hello! I am Wendy Theriot,MA,LPC. I spent years specializing in trauma-focused therapy and have worked in the private practice setting as well as treatment facility setting. This year I have taken a break from in-person therapy where I specialized in EMDR to more of a person-centered approach addressing men’s issues, as well as working mainly with with First Responders, Veterans, Active Duty personnel as well as couples.
I guide the client in the direction of healing or self actualization incorporating Cognitive Processing , Jungian therapy and Attachment-Based therapy. “Jungian”refers to the psychological doctrines and analytical therapy developed by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. It helps to uncover hidden forces driving human behavior by integrating the conscious and unconscious mind, ultimately striving toward authenticity and personal wholeness. Attachment Based therapy is a form of counseling that explores how your early childhood relationships with primary caregivers shape your adult attachment style.
In addition to individual therapy I have worked with couples using the Gottman Method. It is a structured, research-based approach to couples therapy developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It aims to disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy and respect, and remove barriers.
If you are seeing me through an EAP or have a limited amount of therapy sessions I also do Solution Focused Brief Therapy where we don’t look at the past as much as we look towards the future and what you want to envision. With my help you can get there.
As a Christian, who has experienced trauma that resulted in high anxiety and deep depression, I can relate to your suffering with empathy. As a Christian, who has recovered from trauma, depression, and anxiety, I can relate to your suffering with hope. As a Christian counselor, I can provide you the solutions for resolving your issues and achieving your goals. I have over 20 years of experience providing people with the skills and tools to relieve suffering and discover solutions to their life issues. I integrate Polyvagal Informed Therapy and EMDR in addressing the needs of your mind and body. I use Biblical principles and prayer for spiritual attunement, discernment, and wisdom.
Together, we can significantly reduce your anxiety and depression by identifying and resolving negative experiences from your past. Disturbing life events can create a block that prevents you from processing and healing. When those events are fully processed, the associated emotions dissipate, the event is resolved, and healing occurs naturally.
You will find relief early on by learning how to cope through self regulation techniques. I look forward to walking with you on your healing and spiritual journey. Reach out today.
