New to Grow
At 10:23 I understand the importance of cultivating resilience and fostering healthy relationships to achieve our best life. Therapy doesn’t work when clients feel talked down to, rushed, or misunderstood. Many teens and adults I work with have tried therapy before and felt it didn’t really fit. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, I bring both clinical training and lived experience into the therapy room. This allows me to connect in a way that feels genuine, grounded, and practical—especially for teens and young adults who are skeptical of therapy or unsure where to start.
Your first session is focused on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant background, and what you hope to get out of our work together. This is also a space for you to ask questions and get a sense of how I work. There is no pressure to share everything at once—go at your own pace. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and what feels most important to focus on. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and centered on meeting you where you are.
My greatest strengths include building strong therapeutic rapport, meeting clients where they are, and creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment for growth. I bring a humanistic, authentic approach that emphasizes trust, connection, and collaboration. One of my strongest assets is my humanity and lived experience, which allows me to bring authenticity, empathy, and real-world understanding into the therapeutic space. I am especially skilled at working with adults navigating life stressors, ambiguous loss, grief, and emotional transitions. I also work best with adults seeking to deepen self-understanding and improve how they relate to themselves and others. I draw from a diverse background in inpatient mental health, hospice care, nursing home settings, and street outreach work with individuals experiencing homelessness. As a Certified Personal Trainer through the NSCA, I also strongly value the connection between physical and mental well-being. I strive to help clients gain insight, build coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change at their own pace.
I work well with a wide range of clients, but I’m especially effective with adults navigating life stressors, transitions, and personal challenges. I bring a genuine, down-to-earth approach to therapy and value authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. My life experiences allow me to connect with clients in a real and meaningful way, offering insight, understanding, and practical support as they work through their own growth.
Humanistic
I use a humanistic approach, meeting clients where they are and creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space for growth. I specialize in working with individuals of all ages experiencing ambiguous loss, helping clients process complex grief, uncertainty, and unresolved emotions. My background includes working in a nursing home setting for two years and continuing to serve in hospice care, providing experience supporting those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions. I have worked as a therapist in an inpatient mental health hospital and have experience with street outreach supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, giving me a broad understanding of diverse client needs and life circumstances. I am also a Certified Personal Trainer through the NSCA and strongly believe in the connection between physical and mental health, often incorporating holistic perspectives into my work. I strive to help clients navigate life transitions, build coping strategies, and find meaning at their own pace.
