In our first session we will get to know each other and start building rapport. I would like to learn more about you and what brings you into therapy. I want to know how I can support you and develop your treatment goals.
Everyone is unique and I can work with you to develop an individualized plan that focuses on the goals you want to reach.
I feel comfortable working with different age groups but I especially like working with parenting adults. This is such an important population as you are working on forming our new generations. I look forward to working with you in this journey of healing by focusing on you. By taking care of you, we can empower you to continue taking care of the ones you love most.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 11 years. During this time, I have become very familiar and informed on the assumptions and principles of trauma informed care. I ensure to use these to prevent client traumatization and promote well-being.
As a case manager, clinician, and now therapist, psychoeducation is a very important tool that is used to help clients understand their conditions, diagnosis, and approaches to treatment. This is a method that I am very familiar with using with different audiences such as young clients, parents, and adult clients with mental health conditions.
Strength-based approach is another method that I've used throughout my work with individuals and families. There are instances where one may not be able to identify a personal strength, but it is my goal to help all clients not only identify their strengths, but to empower them use these strengths to support their healing.
