About me

I work with partners, couples, and marriages to be direct and improve communication, trust, commitment and general satisfaction within relationships. I enjoy working with individuals, couples/partners and families (over 18 years old) to help them through rough patches or teaching tools to use at home to boost happiness, confidence, and commitment in relationships. I have facilitated relationships including dating, marriage (1-5 years together, 7-10 years together, or even 20-30 years together), and family combinations (parent/in-law, grandparents, co-parenting, roommates, sisters/brothers, or relatives) that want to get along better. I hold therapy for individuals, around such topics as anxiety, depression, grief/loss, family relationship issues, work stress, and other things to see changes in life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a general picture for us to work through in topics for follow-up sessions. Disclaimer: during the first session (or sometimes the second), you may be referred to someone who is more specialized (higher level of care) in the area you need. We will discuss if this arises.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I utilize individual therapy with collaborative dialogical, solution-focused, narrative therapy as well as other methods. I see individuals with issues such as anxiety, depression, job stress, trauma, and relationship concerns or strain. I utilize couples therapy with direct solution-focused aspects to focus on how to fix the problems. I have experience helping couples through trust, commitment, intimacy, connection, infidelity, and communication.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have been described as very direct, compassionate, straightforward and honest. I think of therapy as a place to be able to look at ourselves and find out what one would like to change. For some clients, I utilize Solution Focused Brief Therapy, which entails between 4-8 sessions depending on the person.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with couples or partners who are married or in committed relationships. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel like they would like something better in the marriage, and don't always know how to improve the relationship or communication. I also see individuals who would like help to work towards their goals in life, or reduce symptoms such as anxiety. I enjoy seeing individuals for therapy as well, especially with anxiety and relationship issues or concerns within relationships.
