I believe good therapy should be both meaningful and practical. I draw from cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic approaches, but I don't believe therapy should feel like a one-size-fits-all formula. And yes, I believe there is room for humor in therapy. Logic, compassion, curiosity, and a healthy dose of humor are some of the tools I bring.
I am Nicole Groves, a Licensed Professional Counselor providing direct, holistic, and trauma-informed therapy across Texas, Iowa, Louisiana, and Missouri. My practice bridges the gap between traditional mental health support and somatic healing, helping clients build resilience, regulate their nervous systems, and navigate life's challenges.
Transitioning from a career as a K-12 educator into community mental health and private practice gave me a deep, firsthand understanding of chronic stress, occupational burnout, and systemic pressure. I specialize in supporting individuals in high-stakes helping professions—such as teachers, nurses, and first responders—as well as offering affirming, nonjudgmental care for the LGBTQ+, polyamorous, and kink/BDSM communities.
In our sessions, I combine evidence-based behavioral methods like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT with somatic techniques and yoga-based mindfulness. My approach is entirely collaborative and tailored to your specific background and goals. Whether you are working through burnout, processing trauma, or navigating anxiety, I provide an inclusive, safe space where you can show up authentically, process the weight you carry, and create lasting personal growth.
Finding a therapist can feel personal. You want someone who will listen, understand what matters to you, and help you make meaningful changes. I’m Natalie, and I’ve spent over 10 years helping people navigate anxiety, trauma, depression, self esteem, and life transitions.
My style is warm, collaborative, and honest. We can explore what you have been through, recognize patterns that no longer serve you, and develop practical ways to move forward. I know that culture, identity, relationships, and lived experiences shape how each of us sees the world, so I take time to understand what those mean for you. You do not need to have everything figured out before we begin.
Hi! I'm Melissa, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Texas. I received my Masters from the University of Texas Pan-American and have been practicing for over 8 years now. I help adults and teens struggling with life changes, anxiety, self-harming, stressors and depression become the best versions of themselves. I believe strongly that therapy in itself can foster an individuals drive to life and goals by providing you the space to openly express and develop the mindset and skills to enhance your strengths and reach those goals.
My name is Danielle McGowan, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have experience working with all age individuals in their crisis, trauma, or desire for change. I specialize in adjustment, trauma, grief, anxiety, and understanding behavior patterns that are set from childhood and family systems. Suicidal ideation, depression, life change, and chronic mental health diagnosis are also some of my expertise.
The most common practices include cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, solution-focused, trauma focused CBT, attachment, motivational interviewing, and grief work. I appreciate using psychodynamic and family systems therapies in order to help my clients understand their engrained perspective of the world around them from their past experiences.
I am comfortable working with various levels of trauma and life experiences. I am also comfortable working with first responders, health and wellness professionals, educators, veterans, students, parents, grandparents, and people handling unexpected life changes.
I provide an easy-to-engage environment that is down-to-earth and client-led. Things are discussed at a pace comfortable for the client. Telepsych sessions only, which allow for sessions to be held conveniently.
Hi there! My name is Brooke Elliott and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Since 2018, I’ve worked in various mental health settings helping my community connect with resources that build self-esteem. I have been practicing as an individual therapist since 2021. Growing up with undiagnosed neurodivergence, shame and struggle marked my everyday interactions with my family and the world around me, as well as my view of who I was as a person. I learned what it felt like to be alone with my anxieties because I didn’t have the words to express to others what I was feeling on the inside. Learning that there was a reason for my struggles opened a new world of self-acceptance and empowerment, one that allowed me to take charge of my life and give myself the care I had been missing. Today, I get to work with people who struggle like I did to find a "method to their madness". Together, we'll get rid of the shame that stops you from finding the acceptance you deserve and work towards building a life that fits within your unique needs.
You don’t have to hold it all alone. I offer fiercely affirming therapy for highly sensitive people, adult children of emotionally immature parents, and parents doing the hard, beautiful work of healing while raising others. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, attachment-based work, and nervous system healing.
As a mother of two young children, I don’t just understand attachment theory, I live it. That lived experience shows up in my work every day. Both therapy and parenting ask us to keep showing up; even when it's hard, even when it's not perfect. I’m in it with you, and I’m honored to be part of that process.
I have a particular passion for working with folks who grew up being told they were too much, too sensitive, too emotional. People who learned to stay small to stay connected. Together, we unlearn those survival strategies and build something more intentional, more grounded, and more authentically yours.
All sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship structures are welcome. If the world hasn't felt safe, especially for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ folks, and women, you’re not imagining it. You don’t have to prove your worth here. You get to take up space, as you are.
* Important: Not all available appointments are shown. Please schedule an appointment and we can discuss other appointment times _
Hi! I’m Israel.
Ever feel like no one really listens to you or, honestly, just doesn’t get you, especially your parents? Not to worry, that’s where I come in. I enjoy working with young people and help them understand their emotions or how to get along with their parents, teachers and/or friends. Sometimes it can be difficult to express our emotions, talk to people or just navigate this hectic young life. I've been working with young people and helping them find their way for many, many years. It might take a few sessions to get comfortable and figure things out, and that’s completely okay. We’ll take it one step at a time and work through it together. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start.
Let’s work together!
My name is J.P. De Oliveira Estêvão, and I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (L.P.C.C.). I provide a supportive, collaborative space where clients can explore challenges, build insight, and work toward meaningful change. I use proven methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic approaches, and Adlerian ideas to tailor treatment just for you. My goal is to help you understand yourself better, find ways to cope with challenges, and build a happier life.
I’m a trauma-informed therapist who helps adults heal from anxiety, trauma, burnout, and painful relationship patterns using EMDR therapy and a mind-body approach. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck in cycles of self-doubt, overwhelm, or disconnection, appearing “fine” on the outside while feeling anything but on the inside. My goal is to create a safe, grounding space where you can explore what’s beneath the surface, release what’s been weighing you down, and reconnect with the most authentic version of yourself.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is at the heart of my work. It’s an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. Through gentle bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping), the mind can integrate painful experiences in a more adaptive way. Clients often describe EMDR as life-changing- it allows healing to occur on a deeper, neurological level, often when talk therapy alone hasn’t been enough. My style is collaborative, intuitive, and compassionate. I’ll meet you exactly where you are, while gently challenging patterns that no longer serve you. Together, we’ll help you feel safe in your body, clear in your mind, and at peace within yourself.
Welcome! I'm Dr. Hardy, a doctoral-level advanced clinical practitioner with 14 years of experience and dual licensure in behavioral health and chemical dependency. While my education and licenses complement my clinical framework, I believe my true qualification to hold space for your transformation comes from my own rich life experiences. Together, we will use this deeply relatable, expert care to help you break free from old patterns and turn your deepest pain into purpose.
Hello! I am happy that you are looking for a qualified professional to help you with your needs. My name is Erik Hedlund and I have been a therapist and substance use counselor for 12 years. I have worked with individuals, couples, and groups in private practice outpatient settings as well as in residential care for those with severe mental illness.
I am trauma-informed, warm and incorporate humor in sessions. I view each person as unique; I orient from a biopsychosocial approach, incorporating one’s genetic factors, current/ past environment, and lifestyle choices into the whole person.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is we are powerful beyond measure.” I help people recognize the light within and tools to shine through the ups and downs of life through incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy and a strengths-based approach.
I was a Division I college athlete and pursued graduate studies in nutrition research and physical activity. These experiences shaped my interest in neuroscience, neuroplasticity, and our ability to develop new patterns of thinking, feeling, and responding to life's challenges.
Hi, I’m Ana! I’m a Bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with 6+ years of experience in the mental health field. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma/PTSD, grief, relationship struggles, people-pleasing, boundaries, and major life changes.
Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or intimidating. My goal is to create a space where you can be yourself, feel understood, and actually learn tools that help you feel more in control of your life.
If you’re tired of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re constantly putting everyone else first, I’d love to help you figure out what comes next.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start. That’s okay — we’ll figure it out together. Whether you’re working through trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, identity exploration, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, therapy can be a place to slow down, reflect, and build the skills you need to move forward.

Feeling overwhelmed by life lately? You don't have to figure it all out on your own.
Maybe you're going through a breakup, questioning your marriage, adjusting to life with a new baby, grieving someone you love, or just feeling like you've lost yourself somewhere along the way. Maybe nothing is necessarily wrong, but you're exhausted, overwhelmed, can't shut your brain off, or feel stuck in the same patterns and aren't sure how to move forward.
Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you found me.
I'm a Texas therapist with 28 years of experience in mental health, and I've been providing virtual therapy since 2015. I work with adults navigating life's harder seasons, relationship struggles, anxiety, grief, trauma, burnout, family stress, and all those times when life just feels like too much.
My approach is down-to-earth, supportive, and focused on helping you figure out what's going on, what you need, and what you can actually do to start feeling better. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy, and you certainly don't have to wait until things get worse to ask for help.
Hi, I’m Vicki Smith. I’m a virtual mental health counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor and offer online counseling through my private practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families of all ages. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by relationship challenges, life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, or grief and loss. When life feels heavy or hard to manage, you don’t have to face it alone. My goal is to provide a relaxed, supportive, and warm space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. Together, we’ll work on practical ways to cope, heal, and move toward functioning better and feeling more like you again—all from the comfort of your own home.
Hello! My name is Diana. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC/LMHC) in multiple states, including CT, AK, MA, RI, TX and FL. I earned a Master's Degree in Art Therapy/Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College. I am a registered Art Therapist and Play Therapist, with over 12 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults. I have significant experience working with active duty Service members and military families worldwide.
I’m a therapist who believes therapy should be real, practical, and actually helpful in your day to day life.
My work is grounded in REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy), which focuses on how your thoughts shape your emotions and behaviors and how to shift what’s not working. It’s less about just changing thoughts and more about challenging the unrealistic expectations we put on ourselves, other people, and life. It teaches you how to deal with reality even when reality is inconvenient, unfair, or just plain annoying because let's be honest, life is going to life, and it's in our best interest to learn how to accept that fact while still honoring how we may feel about it.
While I consider myself an REBT therapist it's important to note that I don’t do "one size fits all therapy." I pull from approaches like CBT and Narrative Therapy and I tailor the work to fit you, not the other way around. At my core, I lead with a humanistic approach, which means you’ll get honesty, support, and a space where you don’t have to filter who you are.
With couples and families, I use Family Systems approaches along with the Gottman Method (Level I certified) to help improve communication, rebuild trust, and create stronger, healthier dynamics.
Thank you for taking the first step of courage and making yourself a priority today. Opening yourself up and being vulnerable can be a tremendous step to your healing process. As Brene Brown says, “Vulnerability is not winning or losing, it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.” You are showing up for yourself today! Although the first steps can be overwhelming, I can walk with you and help guide you on the journey of healing and peace. I will always provide a safe space of acceptance and non-judgement for you to share your emotional pain, grow to love and be kind to yourself, and find the peace you deserve to heal. Remember that you are worthy and deserving of being free of the emotional pain you are experiencing. Be kind to yourself.
**If you are viewing my profile for your child (3-17 years of age), I provide a calming and accepting space to assist with regulating your child's emotions. If your child is experiencing symptoms of anxiety, ADHD or difficulty focusing due to inattention or hyperactivity, or your child is lacking motivation and seems more irritable and angrier than usual, I can teach your child coping skills and strategies.

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist and have been practicing for the last 10 years. After earning my degree, I worked as a psychologist in the United States Navy, in a variety of roles and settings, for several years and then started my private practice. I am looking forward to this next chapter and hoping I can be a part of yours as well!
I love guiding people on their healing journeys. It is a privilege to be invited into someone's inner world, and my priority is to create a safe space for this deep work to happen.
If you have high self-awareness and insight but still struggle to shake anxiety, depression, negative relationship patterns, or strong emotional and visceral responses—and you recognize these are stored deep within your nervous system and unconscious mind—EMDR therapy may be the right approach for you.
EMDR supports the brain's natural ability to heal and is a highly effective, evidence-based trauma therapy. To complement this, I integrate interventions from other proven modalities, including parts work, compassion-focused therapy, somatic-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing.

Hello! My name is Adam Lenker. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Texas and Wisconsin. Whatever you are dealing with, know that I am here to listen and support you, through harnessing of compassionate self-awareness. I believe strongly in encouraging self-empowerment, focusing on choices and their results. Central to my theoretical orientation (Person-Centered, Existentialist) is a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, being solution-focused, as well as encouraging mindfulness.
A little bit about how I approach therapy. In creating an alliance with a new client, I adopt a stance of listening and confronting situations non-judgmentally and with compassion, acknowledging that this work is about you, and your life's goals and struggles. My practice is built around partnership with my clients, working hard to establish and maintain this therapeutic alliance. I do this by taking cues of direction, pace and depth from the people with whom I work, and allowing for immediacy to inform what is and is not working.
I believe therapy is less about having all the answers and more about having a place where you can be honest about what’s really going on. Life can be complicated, and sometimes we just need someone who will listen without judgment, help us make sense of things, and walk alongside us as we figure out what comes next.
My practice is grounded in connection, curiosity, and creating a space where you can show up as yourself. You don’t have to have the right words or know exactly where to begin. We can start wherever you are and take it from there.
I’m interested in the whole person—not just the problem that brings you in. Together, we can explore the experiences, relationships, patterns, and beliefs that may be shaping how you see yourself and navigate the world. I also believe therapy should be useful outside the room, so our work can include practical tools and new ways of approaching the things that matter most to you.
I don’t believe growth means becoming a different person. To me, it’s often about becoming more connected to who you already are—understanding yourself more deeply, trusting your voice, setting boundaries, and making choices that feel true to you.
My hope is that our work feels like a genuine partnership: a place where you feel seen, understood, and supported while creating meaningful change in your life.
For over seven years, as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I have provided direct clinical services to adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of issues, such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, low self-esteem, phase of life issues, and grief. I also work with couples who are experiencing conflicts in their relationships. It is not always easy to reach out and ask for help with areas of our lives we feel we need support with. I appreciate you trusting me to be a part of your journey and together we can develop the skills needed to manage the issues and challenges you may be facing.

Hello! I bring 17 years of mental health experience along for your sessions. I have been in private practice since January of 2023. I consider myself a generalist and I'm happy to help you with any need or concern that you might have. Some of the areas where I have the most experience are depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and grief and loss. I have spent the majority of my career working in a University setting and have helped many college-age adults make meaningful changes. I have also worked in behavioral health clinics and have experience working with clients that have been legally referred to therapy. I work with almost all age groups however, I typically do not work with persons under the age of 18. If you are a minor, please have your guardian consult with me before scheduling an intake and I will consider your need and my areas of expertise and help you determine our next steps. I am also no longer able to accommodate couples therapy. If you are seeking a couples therapy session I will be happy to assist you with a referral. I have been in the mental health field for over twenty years where I started out in psychiatric hospitals as a mental health technician, and I ended my hospital career as a Hospital Administrator. I have been a part of building some amazing clinical programs, so I know the struggles and frustrations that we all experience at some point in our life. I have been doing private practice primarily for the past 3 years and loving every moment. I really enjoy helping people through struggles at different stages of their life.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with 9 years of experience in the mental health field. Currently licensed to practice in the state of Texas. What drives my work is a simple yet profound truth: in times of darkness, there is always the potential for growth, healing, and transformation. I am humbled and honored to be a part of this journey with my clients, and I look forward to helping you find the light in your own darkness.
Hello! My name is Cindy Dorestant. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about working with clients who are ready to work toward the change they seek. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and life transitions while creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. My approach is collaborative and empowering, helping clients recognize patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, develop practical coping tools, and create a healthier narrative for themselves. I believe therapy is a space where clients can be both supported and challenged as they grow, heal, and reconnect with who they are.
