I have over 16 years of experience working with children and families. I specialize working with trauma, depression, and PTSD. I also have experience working with clients who are in crisis, providing immediate support and intervention in times of acute emotional distress. Often times current situations are a symptom of underlying past trauma that permeate our daily lives. We will work together to uncover and confront these issues. In this approach, the development of a preferred solution is more important than clarifying and directly addressing the problem.

Hi there! My name is Chinh. If you’ve reached my page, chances are that your heart has been broken, you probably just had the umpteenth argument with your significant other, or maybe you’re stuck in a frustrating cycle of self-doubt, low self-esteem, and overwhelming thoughts that never seem to let up. Maybe it’s all of the above! Whatever brought you here — I’m glad you came. Let’s work through it together. I grew up in a culture where mental illness wasn’t something you talked about. Emotional struggles were ignored, hidden, or minimized. I was taught that sharing feelings was a weakness — that being strong meant staying silent. That experience shaped me. Today, I’m passionate about helping people unlearn those harmful beliefs and start living with more freedom, clarity, and emotional honesty. I want to help end the stigma associated with mental illness. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico, and I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling. I’ve spent years working with adults, couples, and families — helping people reconnect with themselves and each other. My approach is strength-based and holistic: I believe healing doesn’t mean “fixing” you — it means understanding you, supporting you, and helping you build the life you want. Therapy can be hard work, but you don't have to do it alone. I offer a space where you can show up exactly as you are — without judgment. Let's rewrite your story together.

Greetings, As a clinical psychologist with 33 years of experience, I am prepared to help you address common psychological struggles. By guiding you to identify triggers and maladaptive behaviors, we can develop coping strategies to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. If there are underlying trauma issues, I have extensive experience working with those situations as well. Additionally, I have helped many clients struggling with behavioral medicine issues such as stress management, smoking cessation, and substance use. Once coping skills are in place to enhance functioning and help you feel a greater sense of control, we can explore your personal history and underlying factors which contribute to your difficulties, if desired. At regular intervals, we will evaluate your need and preference for ongoing therapy. Thus, treatment will be tailored for a limited problem-focused approach or an in-depth approach as warranted. I believe that a collaborative effort in therapy leads to the best outcome. You may be asked to track thoughts and behaviors for review in the sessions. Completing homework assignments are an important component of treatment. I look forward to being with you on your wellness and recovery journey. I have entered a limited number of appointment slots on the calendar; however, if you are interested please contact me to discuss other availability.

Dr. Nina Enriquez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing psychotherapy for over 13 years. I received my doctorate from USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. You will find I am a pretty laid back individual yet I will challenge your awareness to reflect and learn why we behave the way we do. This helps to create positive change. I work with individuals of all ages. I provide individual, family, and couples therapy sessions. I specialize in the area of grief, loss, traumatic grief and traumatic bereavement. We will all experience loss in our lives. Loss of health, lifestyle, divorce, a break-up, self-image, identity, trust, faith, death and much more. Grief is a natural response to loss but when we don't know how to manage or cope from grief, we may be at risk of developing a mental health disorder. In therapy, telling your story is vital to growth. Your story is important to express, release and find the root cause that lead to the challenges you have faced in life. Another vital component of therapy is increasing your awareness of the strengths you have. A crisis or stressful event may blind us from strengths we used before to overcome. You will learn different coping strategies and will provide handouts plus worksheets. This is to help you begin to take the steps in self-discovery, reflection, and find the person who were are truly meant to be.

Hello and welcome to my page. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have been practicing in the counseling field for over three years and can truly say, it has been a pleasure. I feel it is an honor to help clients through various issues such as relationship conflicts, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, etc. My fascination with the field began when I was merely ten years old, a time marked by the heart-wrenching aftermath of my parents' divorce, which left emotional scars that ignited my curiosity. Like many people, I have experienced loss and pain; however, with the right mindset and support, these challenges can be overcome!

Hi, I'm Emily Hoelscher, a Licensed Professional Counselor with twenty one years of experience in the state of Texas. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and children both in individual and group settings. In addition, I specialize in working with couples and families. I believe the best treatment comes from establishing trust in the therapeutic relationship. You want to make sure you feel comfortable and that I am the right fit for you as a counselor. In counseling, I aim to be supportive and compassionate, while actively listening to and respecting the issues that my clients are facing. I want to meet my clients where they are at, whether it be in struggles or encouraging achievements as counseling progresses. My counseling style combines strength-based, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused approaches to help individuals achieve their therapeutic goals. Identifying one's strengths and coping skills that can be used to help work through various issues is an important part of my therapy approach. In counseling, I want to see my clients have hope for their future, and that from the therapeutic relationship that they gain skills and confidence to manage what may come in life. If you feel like I would be the right counselor for you, I would be honored to work with you.

I am a second career social worker, who graduated with my MSW in 2014 and my Ph.D. in 2019, both from the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work. I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, but have lived in the Houston area for 30+ years. I decided to become a social worker because of my personal experiences raising a child with behavioral health issues and experiencing profound loss following the sudden death of my husband. My goals were to help others the way my own family had been helped, but I also hoped to improve the experiences of others with similar lived experiences but less positive outcomes. I have worked in a variety of settings, including West Oaks Hospital (a specialty psychiatric hospital) and its affiliated outpatient settings, where I provided individual, group, and family therapy to adults and adolescents experiencing significant mental health crises. I have also worked in home hospice care, assisting individuals and families with both pre-bereavement and post-bereavement support, and where I facilitated online support groups for caregivers and for individuals experiencing grief and bereavement. In addition to my private practice, I am an adjunct professor at the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work, and I frequently consult with immigration lawyers about the ways in which mental health issues may impact the path to asylum or citizenship. I practice with a trauma-informed style and am always conscious of the ways in which trauma impacts the lives and experiences of individuals in all walks of life. I have experience working with people who live with ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, and mood disorders generally. My goal is always to support my clients in achieving their own goals for a happier and healthier life.

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in Florida, Oregon, Kansas (LSCSW), New Hampshire, and Texas. I received my Master's degree from Louisiana State University and have been practicing for 9 years. I help adults ages 18+ struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, schizophrenia, psychosis, relationship issues, divorce, general mental health, PTSD, mood disorders, Bi-polar, personality disorders, suicidal ideations, self-harm, grief/loss, life transitions, anger management and many other mental health challenges to become the best versions of themselves. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities such as CBT, CPT, DBT, ACT, Interpersonal, Narrative, Supportive, Compassionate, Grief, and various others depending on your needs. I became a social worker because I want to help people feel better about themselves and their lives. I no longer wanted to be "just an employee" and work for a large organization. I wanted to use my strengths and abilities to help others because it would be challenging and rewarding. Therapy is a form of "self-care", and we will work together as a team to address your specific challenges, goals, and needs. I am dedicated, passionate, and caring.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Texas rather than a city like Dallas?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Texas from Houston to Austin! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Texas.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
