We all need space to prioritize our thoughts and feelings, to say what we need to say out loud, to someone who will not judge us for how we think and feel. Oftentimes, we cannot expect the people in our lives to be impartial or unbiased. Sometimes the people in our lives are far too involved in what causes us to need this space, to process our trauma, and they might not realize why we are anxious or depressed. In the therapeutic relationship, it is all about what you want and need. I will listen and ask thoughtful questions and help you recognize patterns and make connections. Life is a journey and I want you to welcome self-exploration, not fear it.

Born and raised in the inner city by a single mother and a large extended family, I noticed the needs of those that were mentally or physically diagnosed were often not met. Therefore, I began to inquire about what I needed to do in order to be a part of the solution. I began to work in the field and I have worked in Behavioral/Mental Health for close to 20 years. My experience covers a plethora of ages and diagnosis across many settings. My determination to treat and support those with mental health diagnosis during the pandemic inspired me to perform outpatient therapy via telehealth to adults and adolescents. I specialize in adults 25-55 with various diagnoses but primarily Anxiety, PTSD, trauma and Depression to name a few. I love to utilize CBT, CPT, trauma informed care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing as treatment modalities.

Hello and welcome to my practice. I’m a clinical social worker, which means that I passed a national exam, authorizing me to do psychotherapy after having earned a master's degree in social work (MSW). I listen to you to facilitate your listening to yourself. Let's talk and I'll explain. I work exclusively with people in their 20s and 30s who are discovering and creating their direction in life. Please disregard below, Age Groups (18 - 64) as this how the system is programmed and lacks your desire to grow and change! I understand the overarching goal of psychotherapy as strengthening the capacity for choice - of being in charge of your relationship with your thoughts, feelings and how you show up in the world. Your subjective experience of daily life is our territory. I’ve internalized ethics and theories so that I’m able to be present with you, your voice, your intonation, your expression. I've had scads of post-graduate education and continue to be an active learner. Please note: I charge $175 for appointments canceled within a 24hour window of the appointment; however, Monday appointments must be canceled by 5pm, Thursday. Let’s lean in; the way out is through.

Many clients come to work with me at a time in their lives when they feel stuck, lost, or unsure due to trauma, intense loss, or a major life transition. During these times, the people in our lives may not always know or understand how to help. This can be such a painful place to be but just know that you don't have to go thru this alone. My expertise is in working with survivors of childhood abuse and domestic violence. Helping people comes naturally to me. I've also been confronted with difficult challenges and struggles in life where I understand how overwhelming it could feel to take that first step in seeking help. If this work has taught me anything it's taught me this: Change takes time and is a process, but there is more hope, possibility, and power when we work together to bring about change. My approach is simple-I will meet you where you are and together we can start your journey towards positive change and personal growth. If you think we will be a good fit please reach out to schedule a consultation-I am looking forward to working with you and helping you on your journey towards personal growth.

I have an LPC and an LMFT and have been seeing clients since 1996. I have extensive training in helping people who are going through or have experienced narcissistic abuse and any form of childhood trauma, this includes verbal and emotional abuse, family addictions, or any early childhood experience that would cause one to feel unsafe. I am also experienced in the treatment of anxiety, worry and mood concerns and work with addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviors and any poor coping skills or core beliefs that were developed in order to manage these stressors. I use practices primarily focused on somatic and cognitive therapy but also utilize acceptance commitment therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness and am solution focused. I use homework and assignments aimed at regulating the nervous system in order to repair the fight/flight/freeze response that is often stuck on due to a continuous history of a variety of life stressors (trauma). This trapped and stored trauma continues to trigger the nervous system to respond in ways where we continue to feel unsafe, even after the threats have passed. By working with the nervous system to release this trapped trauma and find safety, we can then have the opportunity to respond to the world differently.

Hello, I am Dr. Young. Life is full of colors. Light or dark, each has its unique quality. The secret to becoming successful in playing the game of life is to change from the inside out. We live to move forward, and it requires us to be more and do more. Resilience is an innate human capacity. In my view, everyone is capable of self-healing given the proper guidance and provided with supportive conditions. With a cultivated healthy sense of self, solutions appear with the clarity to think about what you desire in life, not what you cannot or don't have. In tough water, even good swimmers might struggle. If you have dreams and hopes, I can help you to pick up new skills going through the waves of life. Let's work together!

“You don’t have to do this alone”. Hi, I’m Johnna, and I’m so glad you’re here. I work with people who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply not like themselves—and are ready for something to change. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, past trauma, depression, or life transitions, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, more in control, and more connected to yourself. In our work together, you’ll find a space that’s supportive, nonjudgmental, and focused on what you need. I use a mix of effective approaches like EMDR, CBT, and to help you move through what’s holding you back and toward the life you want. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start—just a willingness to take the first step. I’m here to walk that path with you so, let’s get started and schedule a session with me asap.
