Hi, I’m Pete Cianci, LCSW, a licensed psychotherapist based in North Carolina. I work with adults who are ready to feel better and make meaningful changes in their lives. I believe therapy should be practical, clear, and focused on real results.
I use proven approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. In simple terms, that means we’ll look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect—and I’ll teach you skills you can use right away. I strongly believe therapy doesn’t have to feel like a mystery. When you understand how your mind works and learn tools that fit your life, change becomes much more possible.
My goal is to help you feel better as efficiently as possible while still feeling supported and understood along the way.
Hi, I'm Dr. Singletary! I help you heal through a trauma-informed, solution-focused, collaborative process. I believe in working together in a way that considers your life experiences, aspirations, and goals. I am a huge advocate of adult creative expression, play, mindfulness, and centering joy in your healing process. Working with me means that you will have someone dedicated to helping you heal on your terms.
I believe there is power in learning to balance our lives emotionally and spiritually. I have 30-plus years of experience as a counselor, and have been able to help clients find emotional and general life balance. I draw from primary treatment modalities of Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Solution Focused, Psychodynamic, and Existential Theories. At the conclusion of counseling, clients should be able to actively deal with their internal states in a way that allows them to feel more at peace with increased self-esteem, and well-being.

Hello, my name is Stephen Pleasant, and I'm a psychotherapist for men. Why therapy for men? Well, because sometimes a man just needs a pork shoulder to cry on. That being said, I will also work with women as well.
It’s a recognized human tendency for men to get “stuck” in their lives and to end up “settling” for the status quo when deep down they know they are capable of a great deal more. Here’s the truth; You are never “stuck” with your present circumstances.
The Game of Life is a psychological and spiritual journey and winning at this game requires you to change your play and learn to think differently and do things in a new way.
I help men break out from being “stuck” in life, resigned to producing results that are disappointing to them and others. My goal is to see transformative progress in men’s confidence, clarity, and self-expression, so that they may gain the fuller personal and work life they thought was beyond them.
Hello there, my name is Joy.
I think it is wonderful that you have decided to try therapy. Deciding to come to therapy is a big decision and takes courage. My passion is for individual psychotherapy. People come to work with me on issues such as depression, anxiety, grief/loss, life transitions and relationship concerns. I am passionate about social justice, my work and making the world a better place. I am an anti-racist, anti-sexist, and LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician.
I’m a licensed therapist. I work collaboratively with clients to help them identify patterns, develop coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change. My approach is practical, goal-oriented, and rooted in empathy designed to support you wherever you are in your journey. I draw from evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to provide structure and direction, while honoring your pace and experiences. Trauma has haunted you for years. It’s left you with nightmares and flashbacks. It’s caused you to distrust others and push them away. It’s made you feel broken and hopeless. You’ve tried everything you can think of to shed the weight of the past. You’ve read the books, tried the life hacks… You may have even talked to a therapist. But now, you’re out of options. Nothing has helped you transition from being a survivor to someone who’s truly alive. And you’re all talked out. No matter how many times you tell your story, nothing changes. The search for relief is exhausting. This might be your last shot at getting help.

Counseling Background:
As your counselor, I am here to support you in making meaning, creating comfort, and uncovering resources to help you be your best self. Taking an evidenced-based, client-centered, and existentially-informed approach, I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where we can collaborate and work at your own pace to help you reach your goals. I work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds on issues including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, grief and loss, career transitions, and other mental health and life concerns.
Along with the many benefits of counseling come risks. Since counseling often involves discussing unpleasant or uncomfortable aspects of your life, you may experience feelings such as sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, shame, and/or helplessness. Counseling allows you to process your feelings and often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and relief from feelings of distress. There are no guarantees of what you will experience. In order for you to achieve the most benefit from counseling, you will have to be engaged in your therapy sessions, committed, and do work outside of therapy to meet your personal goals.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with 18 years experience supporting clients in various transitions in their life. I have spent the first 13 years working specifically in grief and those who have had the death of a loved one. The skills learned as a grief counselor apply to many other areas in a persons life and we are constantly presented with change that can require a shift in perspective.
My name is Jessica Scales and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC # 10501) in North Carolina. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I have been counseling for over 13 years, with children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 18-30) being my specialty areas. I enjoy helping younger children make sense of the world around them and figure out how to navigate the big emotions they experience daily. With adolescents, I feel it is important to make them feel heard and have a safe space to process past or present trauma, peer-related issues, family stressors, and personal changes and emotions. For young adults, it is important for them to have a safe space to explore life transitions and the emotional and mental stressors or effects that may accompany these changes. I believe in working with each individual in a holistic way, considering all areas of their lives: emotional, physical, spiritual, familial support, personal, environmental, financial, and social. I utilize interventions based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing while incorporating play-based care, faith-based care, and Expressive Arts techniques. The counseling space is the space for individuals to feel safe, heard, and able to process any life circumstances, big or small, without judgment and with unconditional positive regard. I intend to create this safe space for healing and each individual's counseling journey.

Having an open mind and listening to my clients helps me to relate and understand them and develop a treatment plan or plan of action with them that makes them feel comfortable.
I have an extensive history helping individuals understand their career path, educational needs, and learning life skills. I have a passion for mental health because of the family history with depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, and substance abuse, and it drives me to want to help others.
I believe it is important to empower individuals, couples, and families towards a sense of normalcy and autonomy, and developing skills to meet the goals they have for their lives. Taking a holistic approach to counseling I take into consideration the whole person and stive to build a good working relationship with each client to better understand them, helping them feel at ease at a time that may feel stressful and awkward, and helping them navigate life's challenges.

My goal is to not make any decisions for you but to work with you and provide the necessary tools and support to help you navigate through this thing called life.
