I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who helps individuals heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. My approach combines Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to address the roots of distress and promote lasting change. I provide culturally sensitive, experiential therapy that honors your identity, values, and lived experiences. Whether we are reprocessing painful memories, exploring parts of yourself, or engaging in present-moment experiences, I create a compassionate and collaborative space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you, your story, and what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your goals, your current challenges, and what’s most important for you right now. This is also your chance to get a feel for my style and ask any questions you have about the therapy process. Together, we’ll discuss what approaches might be the best fit for your needs and set an initial plan for our work. My priority is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can share openly and feel supported from day one.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to blend deep compassion with direct, actionable guidance. I use an integrative approach drawing from Internal Family Systems, EMDR, EFT, and experiential methods to meet each client exactly where they are. I create a culturally sensitive, affirming space that honors your unique background and lived experiences. Clients often share that they feel truly seen, understood, and supported while also being gently challenged to grow. I focus on helping you get to the root of what’s keeping you stuck, so you can experience meaningful and lasting change, not just temporary relief.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are self-aware enough to know something needs to change and courageous enough to explore it. They are navigating big life transitions, recovering from difficult relationships, or healing from past trauma. Many feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, yet are open to new perspectives and willing to try different approaches. They value honesty, direct feedback, and a safe space where they can be their full, unfiltered selves. No matter their background, they share a desire for deeper self-understanding, emotional relief, and a more empowered way of living.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I use Internal Family Systems to help clients explore, understand, and heal all parts of themselves with compassion.
EMDR
Through EMDR, I guide clients in reprocessing painful experiences so they can move forward with greater peace and resilience.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I integrate EFT to help clients express vulnerable emotions, build trust, and strengthen relationships.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I offer a culturally affirming space where your heritage and identity are seen as strengths in the healing process.
Experiential Therapy
I integrate experiential therapy to go beyond talk, using activities and real-time experiences to foster self-discovery.

I have finished both my intro session and now session 1 of our treatment plan around IFS with MaRay and she feels like a true friend already. She is very kind, authentic and calm and is very talented at letting you explain your thoughts but asking questions that encourage you to organically go deeper yourself. For anyone looking for IFS therapy that is both narrative and visualization based with a provider who is authentic, kind and approachable - I'd highly recommend MaRay!
