Hello there! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor serving clients in the state of North Carolina. I received my Masters Degree from Winston-Salem State University and have been practicing for almost 8 years. I have been afforded the opportunity to work in several clinical settings which have helped me to cultivate a holistic approach to therapy working primarily with child/adolescent and adult populations where I believe in prioritizing the individual (my clients) over their diagnosis. As your therapist, we will work together to help you determine how you best feel supported so that you may become more self-aware and autonomous. I identify as a client-lead therapist, where my clients will identify therapy goals and then determine how they would like me to be present for them in a safe and nurturing environment where self-exploration is valued. I will serve as a fixed focal point for change as I will encourage, support, and challenge you during breakthroughs on your journey towards your goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session, we will engage in open and casual dialogue where you are able to share your story while we work to find a connection. Ultimately, the goal will be for you to determine if I am the therapist that best fits your needs

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with many populations, I have learned to connect with others in the most amazing ways. I focus on the therapist-client relationship rooted in genuine sincerity. Regarding this relationship as the most significant part of therapy ensures that clients feel safe, heard, and understood.

My treatment methods

Child Parent Psychotherapy

I have spent the last 6 years working with children and their parents in an effort to strengthen their relationship and increase positive interactions. I work hand in hand with both child and parent to identify the contributing stressors in their relationship.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In Person-Centered Therapy I use a variety of techniques to help clients gain self-confidence and reach their full potential. My goal is to create a safe space for you to process your thoughts and feelings, and to help you to feel empowered to live your life authentically.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT therapy is an integral to approach to therapy as it helps my clients identify and challenge their own negative thought patterns and behaviors for effectual change.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing has been an effective part of my therapeutic approach for 8 years. I enjoy using several techniques including open-ended questioning, affirmation, and reflective listening in an collaborative effort to determine the reasons for my client's desired change.
