I’m a licensed therapist in New Jersey and Washington with over a decade of experience walking with people through anxiety, depression, grief, and the lies we inherit about who we’re supposed to be. I’m also a veteran and a single parent, which means I don’t just know theory, I know what it’s like to fight through chaos and rebuild. My approach is straightforward: no judgment, no pretending, just real conversations that help you reclaim your strength and live more honestly.
Welcome to Hope, Strength, & Resiliency Counseling Services LLC!
I'm Nichola Lydon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Montclair State University.
With over six years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, supporting them through a range of challenges and celebrating their growth along the way. I genuinely love the work I do—and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing my clients overcome obstacles and thrive.
My approach is straightforward, honest, and rooted in compassion. I believe in having the hard conversations when they’re needed, and I’m here to challenge you to grow—but always with empathy, respect, and unwavering support. My office is a safe, judgment-free, and stigma-free space where you can truly be yourself.
This is your time to begin a new chapter. If you’re ready to do the work, I’m here to walk beside you every step of the way. Let’s rise to the challenge—together.
If you’ve tried therapy and still feel stuck, the approach may be the problem, not you. Many of my clients have already done “the work,” and talking through their struggles wasn’t enough. They needed a more targeted treatment from the start.
If you know your thoughts aren’t rational but can’t stop them, feel trapped by routines you can’t break, are avoiding more of your life to manage anxiety, or have withdrawn and lost motivation, that’s what I treat. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a form of exposure therapy, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral activation, and Habit Reversal Training. These are structured, evidence-based treatments, and every session is practical, so you leave with tools you can use right away.
I work with adults dealing with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in all its forms, including intrusive thoughts, contamination fears, harm and relationship OCD, “Pure O,” and taboo themes that feel shameful or out of character. There’s no thought too disturbing to bring to me. I also treat panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, health anxiety, depression, including depression that hasn’t responded to earlier treatment, skin picking (dermatillomania), hair pulling (trichotillomania), and hoarding disorder.
I’m warm and direct. I’ll be honest about what treatment involves, what progress realistically looks like, and whether I’m the right fit. If I’m not, I’ll point you to someone who is. ERP asks you to face things you’ve been avoiding, and I’ll guide you at a pace that works for you. The people who do best with me are done managing symptoms and ready to change them. If that’s where you are, reach out.

There is an old quote that says "Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional." This is a saying that I came to live by & is one that I hope to teach to my clients. Life is unfortunately not always sunshine & rainbows, but it is up to us to give ourselves the skills & tools we need to not suffer through it.
Overall, I hope to gift my clients the support, guidance, & mindset to overcome and find their strengths. In DBT, the objective is to build a life worth living & that's the work I do with my clients.

You may be in a season of life where you find yourself thinking, "I don't know who I am anymore," "I don't know what I need," or simply, "I don't know what comes next." Maybe your relationships feel harder than they used to, you're struggling to feel motivated or fulfilled, or you've spent so much time caring for everyone else that you've lost touch with yourself along the way.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with individuals navigating relationship challenges, identity shifts, life transitions, anxiety, and those "I don't know" seasons where you know something needs to change but aren't quite sure where to begin. Together, we can explore the patterns that are keeping you stuck, strengthen your relationships and communication, reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have gotten lost along the way, and help you move toward a life that feels more like your own.
I have a particular passion for supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood, a season that can bring immense love, alongside unexpected challenges, overwhelming emotions, and shifts in identity. I support women navigating traumatic births, adjusting to NICU experiences, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, and intrusive thoughts.
When I’m not in session, I’m usually spending time with my two children and enjoying the everyday moments of family life. I love baking, trying new recipes, getting outside, and finding time to slow down and recharge.
Hi! I am Jaclyn. I have an extensive history working with individuals of all ages, functioning levels, and settings. I received my bachelor’s degree from Monmouth University where I studied Psychology. I then received my Master’s degree from Chestnut Hill College where I studied Clinical and Counseling Psychology. You don’t have to keep holding everything together on your own. When life feels heavy, uncertain, or overwhelming, it can be hard to know where to start. My goal is to offer a calm, supportive space where you can pause, make sense of what you’re carrying, and begin finding your way back to yourself. Together, we’ll explore what’s been getting in the way of feeling balanced and connected, using evidence-based approaches and genuine collaboration to help you heal, grow, and rediscover a stronger sense of self.
Hi, I’m Heather Schmauk MS LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor). With over a decade of experience supporting individuals through challenges related to mental health, addiction, and personal growth. If you're a Millennial or Gen Z adult feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, constant stress, or persistent overthinking, you're not alone. Anxiety can make it difficult to stay present, maintain routines, manage responsibilities, or enjoy everyday life. For many people, OCD adds another layer of distress through intrusive thoughts, excessive doubt, rumination, or compulsive behaviors that can leave you feeling stuck.
I specialize in treating anxiety disorders and OCD using Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). ERP helps you gradually face feared thoughts and situations while learning to resist compulsions. CBT provides practical, evidence-based strategies to reduce anxiety, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, and build lasting confidence.
Healing starts with one small, courageous step—and that step might simply be sending an email or making a phone call. You don't have to keep managing this alone. I'm here to help you build the skills to move forward and create a life that's guided by your values, not by anxiety or OCD.
Hi! I’m Jada, a licensed therapist dedicated to helping individuals feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally balanced in their daily lives. I understand how easy it can be to get stuck in cycles of overthinking, people-pleasing, and constantly prioritizing others while neglecting your own needs. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling exhausted, uncertain, or disconnected from themselves, and are ready to make meaningful changes.
My approach is warm, supportive, and direct. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable being open and honest, while also helping you challenge patterns that no longer serve you. I believe therapy should not only provide insight but also offer practical tools you can apply in your everyday life.
I am passionate about helping my clients build healthier boundaries, improve their relationships, and strengthen their sense of self so they can show up more confidently and intentionally in all areas of life.

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Miami, Fl, my passion for helping others came at an early age. I earned a Masters degree in Social Work at Florida International University and later a PhD in Social Welfare at the City University of New York Graduate Center. My clinical training was in adult psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center. In my private practice, I assist adults with depression, anxiety, health problems, relationship issues, grief/loss, work stress, breakup, infertility, and parenting.
Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my profile! Therapy should be uniquely tailored to each person. I work with clients to identify patterns of behavior that may have contributed to difficulties in relationships—with family, friends, or at work or school—and help find ways to create positive change. We learn to change our perspective on life, our past, our entire reality, and recognize that we really can control how we think and what we think about.
One of the primary purposes of coming to therapy is to be heard. I am here to listen and work with you to come up with a solution to the problem or issues you may be having.
I've worked with many clients coping with anxiety and depression, in particular, which has led to the development of a different approach that combines parts of a few different proven techniques. This approach is designed to change your perspective on your mental illness and learn new ways to cope, adjust, and adapt.
We work together to find what practical exercises you can use to better manage out of control emotions when they arise.

Sometimes it is not easy to ask for help, whether dealing with small issues that life presents or with more complicated situations that can arise. Therapy is a collaborative process, and together we will identify your goals and work at a pace that feels comfortable and meaningful for you.
In our work together, we will focus on building practical coping skills to help you manage emotions, reduce stress, and feel more grounded in your daily life. We will explore patterns that may be contributing to distress and develop strategies that support emotional regulation, self awareness, and healthier responses to challenges. I emphasize tools that can be applied outside of sessions so therapy continues to support you in real world situations.
I also believe self care should be realistic and sustainable. Rather than adding pressure, we will focus on practices that genuinely support your mental and emotional well being. Therapy is not about changing who you are, but about strengthening your ability to cope, increasing confidence, and reconnecting with your values.
You do not need to have everything figured out to begin. If you are seeking support, clarity, and lasting growth, I would be honored to work with you.

In our work together, we will take a collaborative and practical approach. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and solution-focused techniques to help you challenge unhelpful thoughts, set meaningful goals, and take real steps toward feeling better.
I especially enjoy working with people who are motivated for change and open to challenging the beliefs and patterns that are holding them back. My goal is for you to leave each session with something concrete you can use
Most of my work has been in the health care setting where I worked supporting people who faced chronic illness. I have also worked with families in a family health clinic. Additionally, I have provided and coordinated mental health treatment in a primary care setting providing problem solving treatment to improve patients’ symptoms and level of functioning. I have also provided support to employees in corporate settings in my role as employee assistance program consultant.
