LCSW, 9 years of experience
I’m Jeffrey, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been providing virtual psychotherapy to individuals across New Jersey for the past nine years. I specialize in supporting young adults, ages 18 to 35, who feel weighed down by constant worry, racing thoughts, overthinking, or the urge to seek reassurance. Additional areas of interest include helping young adult men break free from the chains of pornography addiction. And, supporting individuals living with Irritable Bowel Diseases (I have lived experience in this area). Many of the people I work with struggle with fears that feel hard to control, find themselves caught in repetitive thoughts or behaviors, or feel tense, restless, and unable to relax. These experiences can be exhausting and isolating, especially during a time of life already filled with transitions and expectations. In our sessions, you’ll find a safe, understanding space to explore what you’re going through. Together, we’ll make sense of your experiences and develop practical strategies to ease anxiety, quiet the mind, and build confidence in facing life’s challenges. My goal is to help you move forward feeling calmer, more grounded, and more hopeful about your future.
Our first session is really about beginning our partnership. I see it as a time for us to start getting to know one another and to lay the foundation for the work ahead. I’ll be curious about you—not just the challenges that brought you to therapy, but also the person sitting in front of me. I want to hear about what led you to decide that now is the right time to reach out. I’ll ask questions to get a sense of how you feel when life is going well, and how things feel different when you’re in a difficult moment. Understanding that contrast helps me learn about your strengths and where you feel most yourself, as well as what gets in the way. The first session isn’t about rushing to solutions. It’s about starting a thoughtful conversation and creating a safe space where you feel heard and understood. My goal is for you to leave that first meeting feeling that you’ve been genuinely listened to and that we’re beginning a collaborative process—one we’ll shape together as we move forward.
What often stands out in my work is my focus on helping people who struggle with anxiety. I specialize in evidence-based approaches that are proven to be effective for anxiety disorders. I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps you understand and change unhelpful thinking patterns; mindfulness tools and techniques, which build awareness and calm; and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for conditions like OCD and health anxiety. Clients who complete therapy with me often describe feeling more in control of their lives. They leave with a clearer understanding of why anxiety showed up in the first place, and with practical, active skills they can continue to use on their own. Many feel more confident facing challenges and experience a renewed sense of hope and optimism. My goal is to guide you through a process that not only eases your current distress but also equips you with tools to keep moving forward—so that anxiety no longer runs the show.
The clients who tend to do best in therapy with me are young adults—typically between 18 and 35—who are ready to address the ways anxiety has been interfering with their lives. Many come to me wanting to get back to how they felt before anxiety took hold, while others are looking to build a new, steadier sense of self—one that isn’t overshadowed by constant worry or fear. You don’t have to have therapy experience to benefit from our work together. I often work with people who are starting therapy for the very first time. What matters most is a willingness to engage in the process and to stick with it, even when it feels challenging. My approach is most effective for clients who are motivated to learn about their anxiety, practice the tools we develop in session, and stay open to the gradual, step-by-step process of change. If you’re ready to invest in yourself and to move toward a life where anxiety no longer eats away at your energy and joy, you’re in a great position to benefit from the work we’ll do together.
A type of therapy that helps people change how they think and behave to feel better. It focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, and helps individuals develop coping strategies for dealing with difficult situations. CBT is a cornerstone treatment modality to tackle anxiety, fear, and negative thought patterns.
Supportive therapy focuses on providing empathy, validation, and encouragement while helping you build on your strengths and develop practical coping skills. It offers a safe, collaborative space to process challenges, gain perspective, and feel supported as you work toward your goals.
The Gold Standard for treating health anxiety (health OCD) and obsessions and compulsions. ERP involves exposing individuals to situations or thoughts that trigger their obsessions while simultaneously preventing them from engaging in the usual compulsive behaviors that they use to cope. This process helps individuals learn to tolerate anxiety and reduce their reliance on compulsions.
