My name is Jeffrey, and I’m a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist practicing in New Jersey. For the past nine years, I’ve worked closely with individuals navigating the often overwhelming challenges of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), health anxiety, and anxiety. While I take great pride in the work I do, I also believe that who I am outside the therapy room shapes the way I show up within it. I deeply value connection—both in my personal life and my professional one. I prioritize time with my family and friends, and I find joy in new experiences, whether that means trying a dish I’ve never had before or exploring a place I’ve never been. I feel most grounded when I’m out in nature—hiking through the woods, birdwatching, or tending to the pollinator bees I take pride in raising, a personal passion that allows me to nurture life and support the environment. These parts of who I am keep me rooted and present, and they fuel the empathy and presence I bring to my work with clients every day.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

First sessions are a good opportunity for us to build the foundation of our successful partnership. I'm interested to know who you are and what brings you to counseling at this time. This can include discussions about the roles and responsibilities in your life, duration of symptoms, and exploring goals you have for your therapy experience.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a therapist specializing in anxiety-related conditions—including obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), health anxiety, specific phobias, and generalized anxiety—my greatest strengths lie in blending evidence-based treatment with a deeply human, collaborative approach. I am trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard treatment for OCD and health anxiety, and also bring extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. Clients often tell me they feel heard, validated, and truly seen in our work together. I aim to strike a balance between being warm and compassionate, and also focused and goal-oriented. My sessions have a clear structure and purpose, and I’m known for not wasting time—I focus on the skills and tools that will help clients make meaningful progress and feel better. Many of my clients report a sense of relief by the end of treatment—feeling more confident, secure, and empowered. They describe learning not only how to manage their anxiety, but also how to trust themselves again. I challenge and stretch them when it’s needed, but always in the context of support, empathy, and partnership. My goal is for clients to leave therapy with real change, not just insight—knowing not only what to do, but how to do it with confidence.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re not feeling like yourself. You may be exhausted—mentally and physically—caught in a loop of intrusive thoughts & completion of rituals, overwhelming fears, or relentless uncertainty. You might feel like your life is slipping out of your control. I want you to know: you're not alone, and there is a path forward. I try and focus my practice on helping Millennial and Gen Z adults.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

A type of therapy that helps people change how they think and behave to feel better. It focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, and helps individuals develop coping strategies for dealing with difficult situations. CBT is a cornerstone treatment modality to tackle anxiety, fear, and negative thought patterns.

Motivational Interviewing

A collaborative, goal-oriented method of communication designed to strengthen a person's own motivation and commitment to change. It is a client-centered approach that helps individuals resolve ambivalence and explore their own reasons for making positive changes in their lives.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

The Gold Standard for treating health anxiety (health OCD) and obsessions and compulsions. ERP involves exposing individuals to situations or thoughts that trigger their obsessions while simultaneously preventing them from engaging in the usual compulsive behaviors that they use to cope. This process helps individuals learn to tolerate anxiety and reduce their reliance on compulsions.
