Do you find yourself putting everyone else's needs before your own? Struggling to say no without guilt? Feeling responsible for keeping the peace, managing others' emotions, or living up to expectations that no longer fit who you are? The patterns we learn growing up can shape our relationships, self-worth, and boundaries well into adulthood. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or repeating the same frustrating cycles, therapy can help you understand where these patterns come from, heal old wounds, and create healthier boundaries so you can move forward with greater confidence and authenticity. Whether you're navigating difficult emotions, healing from the past, or simply seeking clarity about your next steps, I’m here to walk alongside you on your path to healing, growth, and self-discovery. My name is Ebony Yelder (she/her/hers), and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience in the field of counseling and psychiatric services. I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse settings—including behavioral health hospitals, outpatient clinics, emergency rooms, in-home therapy, and with the Department of Defense supporting service members and their families. I believe therapy is a shared journey where your voice and experiences guide the process. I’m dedicated to helping individuals tap into their inner strengths and resilience. Together, we’ll recognize what’s working, explore what’s not, and create a meaningful path toward the life you envision. More about me: https://www.pathtoflourishcounseling.com/

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other and exploring what has brought you to therapy. We'll talk about the challenges you're facing, what you'd like to gain from our work together, and any personal history that may help provide a deeper understanding of your experiences. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share any concerns, and determine whether I feel like the right fit for your journey. My goal is to create a comfortable, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and supported from the very beginning.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

While I primarily use Positive Psychology, Narrative and Solution Focused Therapy approaches, I also subscribe to the belief that the therapeutic process should be individualized and not a one size fits all treatment modality. Every person is unique with whom at times can be faced with exceptional challenges causing significant emotional distress.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My experience across a variety of settings has allowed me to support people from many different backgrounds and life experiences. No matter where you are on your journey, you don't have to have it all figured out before starting therapy. Together, we'll gently explore the experiences, patterns, and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck and uncover the strengths that have been there all along. My hope is to help you heal the parts of yourself that have been carrying too much for too long, set boundaries that honor your needs, and rediscover the confidence, clarity, and sense of self that may have been overshadowed by life's challenges. You deserve the opportunity to move forward feeling more empowered, connected, and at peace with who you are.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with LGBTQ+ individuals, medical professionals, young adults navigating life transitions, and people seeking to take the next step in their personal journey. I support those looking to rediscover themselves, build confidence, and create meaningful change. I also support individuals experiencing grief and loss, offering a steady, compassionate setting to process emotions, heal, and move forward at a pace that feels right.

Starting therapy can be a little overwhelming, but Ebony made me feel comfortable immediately. We are two sessions in, and she has already asked the deep, important questions needed to understand my goals. I truly appreciate her approach-she gently challenges me with tasks to help me actively work through my problems. I'm really grateful to have found her and excited to keep working together.

I enjoy my sessions with Ebony Yelder. She’s intelligent and empowering, offering tools and resources that truly fit who I am. She brings a great balance to therapy guiding me when I need direction and stepping back when it supports my growth. I started out feeling scattered, and now I feel grounded, clearer, and genuinely becoming a better version of myself with her support.
