My life experiences are what led me to become a therapist and shaped my deep commitment to supporting others on their healing paths. Over the years, I’ve worked in a wide range of settings — schools, jails, hospitals, and private practice — which has given me a broad understanding of how people cope, survive, and grow in very different environments. I have specialized training in TF‑CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, autism, and women’s mental health, including perinatal, postpartum, and perimenopausal/menopausal concerns. These areas of focus allow me to support women across the full spectrum of emotional, hormonal, and life transitions. I look forward to walking alongside you as we navigate this journey together. I focus on women only at this time.
Our first session is all about connection and comfort. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, exploring what brings you to therapy, and identifying the goals you hope to work toward. I’ll ask about your background, your experiences, and what you need most right now — not to overwhelm you, but to understand your story in a way that feels safe and collaborative. By the end of our time together, you’ll have a clear sense of how therapy with me works, what our sessions will look like, and how we can partner to support your healing and growth.
My work centers on helping individuals heal, feel grounded, and reconnect with their inner strengths. I offer a warm, neutral, and safe space where you can speak freely, be fully yourself, and feel genuinely heard. I use an integrative approach that blends cognitive‑behavioral, trauma‑informed, and holistic perspectives. Together, we’ll identify your strengths, explore solutions, and create a plan that feels both empowering and sustainable. I truly enjoy learning about each person’s unique path and honoring the resilience they bring into the room.
My ideal client is a woman who has spent years being strong for everyone else and is finally ready to have a space where she doesn’t have to be. She may be carrying anxiety, depression, or unresolved trauma, or she may be moving through a life transition that has stirred old wounds or shaken her sense of stability. Many of my clients are in perinatal or postpartum phases, or navigating the profound shifts of perimenopause and menopause. She is thoughtful, intuitive, and often harder on herself than she deserves. She wants a therapist who understands the emotional, hormonal, and relational layers of women’s mental health — someone who can help her reconnect with her voice, her needs, and her sense of agency.

I identify as
EMDR
EMDR is a fantastic mode of therapy to be able to use across the board for depression, anxiety, trauma related issues. I am trained in EMDR via EMDRIA. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and recover from distressing life experiences, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. During EMDR sessions, clients are guided to recall distressing memories while simultaneously focusing on an external stimulus, such as eye movements or tapping. This process helps the brain reprocess these memories, reducing their emotional impact and allowing clients to heal. It's a highly effective method for many people and can bring significant relief and lasting change. Feel free to ask if you have any questions or concerns!
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past 15 years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Melanie’s gentle, warm approach makes it easy to open up to. Her insight and guidance do not overwhelm. She introduces approaches or tools to manage difficult thoughts or feelings that are easily put to use post session. She brings a quiet and calm which make it easier to be introspective.

Although she does not offer the therapy technique I require she was more than helpful and supportive. Offering additional material and recommendations for trained therapists.
