Do you relate to anxiety memes on social media? What about staying up late at night thinking about that time you told the host at that restaurant you went to years ago “you too” when they told you to “enjoy your meal?” How about all-or-nothing thinking? "I’ll never figure this out," "life will always be hard," or "I’ll never be happy." Unfortunately, so many of us do, especially women in this society.
I want to help you let go of those embarrassing moments you dwell on, stop doom scrolling on social media, and accept that life can still be worth living even with painful events in it.
I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of therapeutic settings, including schools, partial‑hospitalization programs, a child‑advocacy center, and a private practice focused on trauma and child‑centered play therapy. Along with Play Therapy, my passion lies in Narrative Therapy—helping people uncover the stories that shape their lives and supporting them as they create new, preferred narratives that reflect their strengths, values, and hopes.

I especially work with clients to explore recurring challenges related to anxiety, PTSD, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients identify maladaptive patterns, develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life.
I strive to personalize and facilitate systematic, strategic, and effective support plans for individuals to achieve what they believe (or don't believe is possible) after a series of setbacks or interpersonal challenges. I am a goal-oriented clinician who comes alongside my clients to discover or re-discover the self that may have gotten muddled along the way.
When feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, unexpected transitions, and low energy to overcome mental health challenges or setbacks, I fervently adopt the coach and modeling posture that will help you to learn and use adaptive mental health tools that will promote renewal, clarity, and rhythmic motivation to take control of your whole health and wellness journey.
My counseling services integrate existential theory, CBT/REBT modalities, and DBT skills, with a focus on providing quality care to adults. I primarily work with concerns related to lack of meaning, trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. While I emphasize choice and personal responsibility, I also make it a priority to validate each client’s emotional experience. I believe therapy should be about getting better, not just feeling better. To support that growth, I use active, directive, and challenging interventions designed to help clients develop the skills to ultimately help themselves.
I received an MA in Humanistic Psychology in 2007 from the University of West Georgia. I use a client-centered, humanistic approach focusing on aspects of Mindfulness, Existentialism, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My learning and healing journey has been full of the unexpected and the changes have come in a variety of forms. Some I have savored, leaving me filled with a sense of wonder. Others have left me picking up the broken pieces, wondering in what possible way I might ever come back together again. I have been lucky, I think, to have the lens of Psychology to help me along the way. Along our way together I will offer this lens to you.
