Hi, my name is Summer Hamilton and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I have been practicing for 5 years. I strive to meet you where you are, recognizing that every person's journey is unique. My hope is to create a space where you feel safe to slow down, openly explore your experiences, and make room for every part of yourself with curiosity rather than judgment. Together, we'll work toward greater self-understanding, balance, and the flexibility to navigate life's challenges in a way that feels authentic, intentional, and aligned with your values.
The first session is a chance for us to begin getting to know one another and explore what has led you to seek therapy. We'll discuss the concerns that are most important to you, while also beginning to understand the broader context of your life, including your relationships, experiences, strengths, and daily routines. Rather than rushing to find solutions, we'll focus on building a shared understanding of your story and identifying where you'd like to grow. Before we finish, we'll talk about your goals for therapy, determine a session frequency that feels appropriate, and try to leave time for any questions you may have.
One of the qualities that sets my approach apart is my ability to see the bigger picture without losing sight of your individual experience. I strive to help you connect the dots between your thoughts, emotions, relationships, life experiences, and values, making sense of how they interact rather than viewing them as separate pieces. As your understanding grows, so does your ability to approach yourself and your life with greater clarity, balance, and confidence.
I enjoy working with adults who feel ready for something to change, even if they aren't quite sure where to begin. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, stress, overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, relationship challenges, life transitions, or difficulty slowing down and being fully present in their daily lives. They often feel pulled in many directions, carry high expectations for themselves, or find it difficult to prioritize their own needs. The clients who tend to benefit most from my approach are open to self-reflection, willing to be challenged with compassion, and motivated to make meaningful changes. They want to better understand themselves, improve the way they relate to others, and feel more confident in the choices they make.

I incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Treatment to help clients recognize their strengths, build on what is already working, and identify practical steps toward the changes they want to make. Rather than focusing solely on problems, I encourage clients to notice moments of progress, explore possibilities, and develop realistic, meaningful goals that align with the life they want to create.
I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients respond to their experiences with greater openness, self-awareness, and flexibility. Rather than focusing on eliminating difficult thoughts or emotions, we explore new ways of relating to them while taking meaningful steps toward a life that reflects your values and what matters most to you.
I incorporate Psychodynamic Therapy to help clients better understand the connections between their past experiences, present relationships, emotions, and behavioral patterns. By bringing greater awareness to these patterns, we can identify opportunities for growth, deepen self-understanding, and create meaningful changes that support your goals and overall well-being.

My first session with Summer was wonderful. She made it easy to open up and communicate honestly. It felt like talking with someone I’ve known for years. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey with her.
