Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a dedicated mental health professor, with extensive experience in helping individuals navigate personal challenges. In therapy, I specialize in realistic beliefs, performance anxiety, relationship issues, athlete issues, LGBTQ+ issues, etc. and offer a compassionate, client-centered approach tailored to each person’s unique needs. I strive to create a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to create lasting change.
The first session is about laying the foundation for therapy, building trust, and establishing a clear path forward. The goal is to understand your needs and help you feel understood, while you also have the opportunity to assess if I feel like the right fit for you.
As a provider, I am empathetic, compassionate, and a non-judgmental listener. I take pride in establishing and maintaining clear, healthy boundaries with clients, which helps ensure that the therapeutic relationship remains ethical, effective, and centered on the client’s needs.
To name a few, I love working with athletes who are struggling with performance or self esteem, young professionals who are in the initial stages of their careers, and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating life. My clients are passionate about improving and advancing, but they often lack the tools and strategies to make that progress a reality. Many feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious about the direction of their sport, career, or life and I am here to help them build the confidence and skills they need to succeed.
Adlerian therapy views individuals as unified beings, considering how biological, psychological, and social factors interact to shape a person’s behavior. This means that as a therapist, I would pay attention to the person's thoughts, emotions, behavior, and social context rather than isolating a particular symptom or aspect of their life. In practice: I would look at how clients interact with their family, friends, work, and society as a whole. For instance, if a client presents with anxiety, we’d explore how this might connect to broader patterns in their life, such as relationships or early childhood experiences.
CBT is a practical, goal-oriented, and evidence-based approach that empowers clients to make lasting changes in their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. As a therapist, I use CBT to provide clients with the tools they need to manage their symptoms, challenge unhelpful thinking, and develop healthier coping strategies. The approach is highly adaptable, making it effective for a wide range of issues, from anxiety and depression to relationship challenges and stress management.
