Hello! My name is Shamaya Eppinger, LPC, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping children, adolescents, women, and families navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience. With experience as both a school counselor and mental health counselor, I specialize in supporting clients through anxiety, stress, self-esteem concerns, grief, emotional regulation, life transitions, and personal growth. I believe therapy should be a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-based, helping clients develop practical coping skills, build confidence, and create meaningful, lasting change. Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your child, I am committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and wellness.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns, experiences, and goals. During our initial session, we will discuss what brings you to counseling, any challenges you are currently experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process. I will ask questions about your personal history, relationships, strengths, and areas of concern to better understand your unique needs and experiences. We will also review important information regarding confidentiality, counseling expectations, and the counseling process. Together, we will identify goals and begin developing a plan that supports your growth, healing, and overall well-being. There is no pressure to share everything during the first session. You are encouraged to move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Whether you are seeking support for yourself or your child, my priority is to ensure you feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning. By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of how we can work together and what the next steps in your counseling journey may look like. I look forward to partnering with you as you move toward healing, growth, and becoming the best version of yourself.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a counselor is my ability to build genuine, trusting relationships with clients. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel comfortable sharing their experiences and challenges. I believe that healing begins when clients feel seen, heard, and understood. My therapeutic approach is compassionate, strengths-based, and tailored to each client's unique needs. I integrate evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, to help clients develop practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and achieve meaningful goals. Rather than focusing solely on problems, I help clients identify their strengths and build upon them to create lasting change. What often stands out about my work is my ability to connect with children, adolescents, and women while balancing empathy with practical strategies. Clients frequently leave sessions with tools they can immediately apply to manage stress, regulate emotions, improve self-esteem, strengthen relationships, and navigate life transitions. My goal is not only to help clients overcome current challenges but also to empower them with the confidence and resilience needed to thrive long after counseling has ended.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve children, adolescents, young adults, and women who are seeking support with emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, stress, self-esteem concerns, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship difficulties, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, or feelings of being overwhelmed by life's responsibilities. I particularly enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to better understand themselves, develop healthier coping skills, improve their confidence, and create meaningful change in their lives. I also support parents who are seeking guidance in helping their children manage emotions, behavior concerns, social challenges, or adjustment difficulties.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, behavioral concerns, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. In my practice, I use this treatment method to help clients gain insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical coping skills that can be applied in everyday life. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe exploring challenges and building on their strengths.
