New to Grow
Beginning or continuing your mental health journey takes courage, and I’m here to meet you where you are. My approach focuses on understanding your current experiences with compassion and acceptance, while gently encouraging growth—even when motivation feels low. Together, we’ll explore practical skills and insights that make sense for your life and goals, so you can apply what we discuss in meaningful, lasting ways. My goal is to create a supportive space that balances understanding and change, helping you move forward at your own pace.
In your first session, you can expect to spend about 45 minutes to an hour fully engaged in discussing the different areas of your life that may be connected to your mental health concerns. This initial meeting helps me gain a comprehensive understanding of your experiences and goals for therapy. Please bring a valid driver’s license to verify your identity. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions about the therapeutic process. All information shared in session is kept confidential, with the exception of situations involving potential harm to yourself or others, suspected child or elder abuse, or when required by a legal subpoena.
As your therapist, I take a holistic approach to understanding and supporting your mental health. My goal is to see you as a whole person—not just the symptoms you may be experiencing. Clients often share that they appreciate my patience and the balance I create between acceptance of where they are and gentle encouragement toward meaningful change. Together, we’ll work to build insight, develop effective strategies, and foster growth that aligns with your unique values and life experiences.
I work best with individuals and couples who are ready to explore meaningful change and are open to the process of growth—even if it feels challenging at times. My ideal clients may be navigating anxiety, depression, past trauma, or relationship struggles, and are seeking a supportive, collaborative space to better understand themselves and their patterns. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking to strengthen your connection with your partner or yourself, I aim to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to move forward at your own pace.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Using helping professional skills and a person-centered approach, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges freely. I believe that each person holds the capacity to discover their own solutions, and my role is to support and guide that process with empathy and respect. Through reflective and active listening, I ensure that clients feel truly heard and understood, fostering clarity, self-awareness, and personal growth throughout the therapeutic journey.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As a therapist trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected and how these patterns influence their overall well-being. In our work together, you’ll learn practical tools to challenge negative thinking, build healthier coping strategies, and make choices that support symptom reduction across a range of mental health concerns. I often assign therapy homework to encourage growth between sessions, promote self-care, and reinforce progress, while creating a supportive space where your emotions are heard and validated.
Trauma-Focused CBT
As a therapist trained in trauma-focused and trauma-informed care, I provide a safe and compassionate space for clients to understand how their past experiences have shaped their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we explore how trauma has impacted your life, challenge unhelpful patterns that may have developed from those experiences, and work toward healing and growth. I also teach self-soothing techniques to help calm the nervous system when trauma reminders arise, empowering you to regain a sense of autonomy, safety, and control in your mental health journey.
Gottman method
As a Gottman Method Level 2 trained therapist, I use proven techniques to help couples improve communication, manage conflict, deepen intimacy, and recognize the strengths that already exist in their relationship. In our work together, I’ll offer practical therapy assignments to help you apply what we discuss in session and encourage both partners to take accountability for their part in the relationship. My goal isn’t simply to keep you together—it’s to help each of you gain clarity about what you want, how you show up in the relationship, and whether continuing together aligns with your individual growth and shared goals.
