Welcome. I'm glad you're here.
Reaching out for therapy isn't always easy. Maybe you're carrying grief, struggling in a relationship, questioning where you fit, trying to reconcile your faith with other parts of your life, or simply feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward.
I believe you deserve a space where you can be honest about all of those things without having to hide or compartmentalize important parts of yourself.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I work with adults who are navigating questions of identity, spirituality, relationships, sexuality, grief, and difficult life transitions. For clients who are LGBTQ+ and/or Christian, I offer a space where faith and identity can be explored honestly rather than treated as competing parts of who you are.
We don't have to figure everything out in the first session. We'll start where you are, identify what matters most to you, and work together toward greater clarity, peace, and the ability to live according to your values.
If this sounds like the kind of space you've been looking for, I invite you to schedule a first session
I became a therapist because therapy changed my life. Experiencing mental illness caused struggle and emotional suffering, but lead me to seek help. The support I found brought solace and healing, and eventually opened doors that led to becoming a therapist. It is such a meaningful experience to reach those who are now where I once was. Over the years I had opportunities to work in many settings, including medical and mental health hospitals, intensive outpatient, and residential addiction treatment centers, and now private practice.

I didn't always know I wanted to be a therapist. Growing up in a household where mental health issues were present allowed me to see firsthand it's effect on individuals. After undergraduate school, I landed my first job in a psychiatric hospital. That's when things clicked for me, and I knew that I wanted to help people become their best selves. I had a natural curiosity to understand the world, how people think, and what drives human behavior. I also believe in the power of connectedness. All these things came together and pushed me to pursue my graduate degree in counseling. My experiences early on taught me that no one is perfect, we all struggle, and we all deserve grace. I am here to tell you that your story doesn't have to end where it is now. I aim to show that we are all resilient and have the ability to overcome challenges.

Hi. I am Cara Dixon, a licensed psychotherapist. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia and Nevada. I use Cognitive Behavioral approach to psychotherapy. This approach allows clients to look at their thought patterns and make changes with practice. I also take a wholistic approach to overall wellness to include a person's: mind, body, spirit, and their emotions.
