Daphne Jones
Hi, I'm Daphne, a Licensed Professional Counselor and State-Approved Clinical Supervisor with over 12 years of experience helping adults build healthier relationships with themselves, strengthen emotional resilience, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence. I work best with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, and mood-related concerns. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking to better understand yourself, therapy can provide a supportive space to gain insight, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Research shows that evidence-based therapies like the ones I use can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression by 50% or more within just a few months.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients increase emotional awareness, improve coping, strengthen relationships, and move toward the life they want to build. I work best with clients who are curious about themselves, open to learning new perspectives, and ready to actively participate in the therapeutic process. Together, we'll identify realistic goals, build on your existing strengths, and develop strategies that support lasting growth and emotional well-being. Clients often report improved emotional regulation, stronger self-understanding, healthier relationships, and increased confidence. I aim to honor your story while helping you build resilience and practical tools for long-term growth. Please note: Requests for letters, evaluations, or documentation outside of standard therapy services require additional fees and are not billable to insurance. ESA letters are available after intake and two additional therapy sessions.
First session
During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brings you to therapy, and identifying the goals that are most important to you. You'll have the opportunity to share your experiences at your own pace while I ask thoughtful questions to better understand your strengths, challenges, and the areas of your life you'd like to improve. My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to your individual needs. Together, we'll develop a plan that focuses on meaningful progress, helping you build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop strategies you can apply in your everyday life. I encourage open communication throughout the process and welcome your feedback so we can ensure therapy remains aligned with your goals. Clients often appreciate that our sessions balance supportive conversation with practical tools and reflection. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, challenged in productive ways, and empowered to make lasting changes that support your emotional well-being and overall quality of life.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to listen deeply and recognize patterns that help clients better understand themselves. I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable exploring your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Together, we'll identify your existing strengths and discover practical ways to build on them as you work toward your goals. As a creative and naturally expressive therapist, I often incorporate imagery, metaphors, visualization, and experiential techniques to make complex emotions easier to understand and navigate. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your unique needs by integrating evidence-based practices with strategies that resonate with how you learn and grow. Clients often leave therapy with greater emotional awareness, improved coping skills, stronger relationships, increased confidence, and a clearer sense of direction. My goal is to provide both encouragement and practical guidance so you can make meaningful, lasting changes and continue building on your progress long after our sessions end.
Ideal clients
I work best with adults who are motivated to better understand themselves, strengthen their emotional well-being, and make meaningful changes in their lives. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, stress, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns, life transitions, or mood-related challenges while balancing work, family, or other responsibilities. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or simply looking for greater confidence and emotional balance, therapy can provide a space to reflect, gain new perspectives, and develop practical strategies for lasting growth. I value working with clients who are open to self-exploration, willing to learn new skills, and interested in taking an active role in the therapeutic process. If you're looking for a supportive, collaborative therapist who will listen carefully, offer thoughtful feedback, and help you move toward your goals with compassion and practical guidance, we may be a great fit.
Treatment methods
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
In our sessions, weâll explore the different âpartsâ of you, each with its own thoughts, feelings, and roles. You might notice parts that try to protect you, parts that carry pain, and parts that feel stuck. Iâll help you get to know these parts with curiosity and compassion, not judgment. Together, weâll work toward helping these parts feel heard and supported, so you can feel more balanced and connected to your true self, the calm, wise core thatâs always within you.
Strength-Based
I believe you already have many strengths, even if theyâre hard to see right now. Together, weâll explore the skills, values, and resources youâve used to get through tough times. Weâll build on whatâs working and use that as a foundation for moving forward. You are more capable than you may realize, and Iâm here to help you tap into that power.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
In our work together, weâll focus on helping you build skills to manage intense emotions, navigate relationships, and stay grounded during tough moments. Iâll support you in learning practical tools like mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and communication skills. At the same time, weâll hold space for both acceptance and change. You can honor where you are while also working toward where you want to be. Weâre in this together, and Iâll guide you every step of the way.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
In our sessions, Iâll help you learn how to slow down and notice whatâs happening in the present moment without judgment. Together, weâll practice simple techniques like breathing, body awareness, and gentle observation of thoughts and emotions. You donât have to change everything right away; weâll focus on building awareness so you can respond to stress and challenges with more clarity and calm. This approach can help you feel more grounded, even when things around you feel overwhelming.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In our work together, weâll look at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Sometimes the way we think about things can make challenges feel even heavier. Iâll help you notice unhelpful thought patterns and learn how to shift them in ways that support your goals. Together, weâll practice strategies you can use in daily life to reduce stress, improve your mood, and feel more in control. You donât have to do it alone, weâll take it one step at a time.
