Hello and Welcome! First, I want to thank you. It took a lot for you to seek a therapist in the first place. Just admitting to yourself that you're not feeling your best is difficult, but congratulations, you've made it past your first step! Asking for help can be hard for some people, so thank you for seeing something in me that makes you more comfortable taking your next step. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know that you are not alone and I will walk with you on this journey. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I grew up in a family of social workers which led me to the field. I grew up going to the nursing home my mom worked in as a geriatric social worker. Two of my mothers sisters were social workers and my great aunt was a therapist for delinquent teens. I have always had the instinct to help others and as I grew up I found that many people felt comfortable sharing things with me that they usually would say they never talked about. My amazement at the amount of traumatized people there were in my life turned into a fascination with the workings of the mind and body. My need to help others turned into a BSW, then an MSW, to an LCSW. Years went into study and licensing but still the subject does not bore me. I am excited to share what I have experienced and what I have learned while adapting the concepts to help others in the specific ways they need. We are all continuously learning and growing. I am excited to learn and grow with you as we discover how we will work best in the therapeutic environment together.

Hi, I am Dr. Rolanda Harris. I hold a Doctorate in Social Work and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Alabama and Florida, as well as a Qualified Supervisor in Florida. I am the owner of Intentional Counseling and Consulting, LLC. I have 24 years of experience supporting and empowering individuals to navigate and cope with life's challenges. I am an intentional counselor who proactively plans my interactions and interventions based on a clear understanding of your situation and desired outcomes. I seek to understand your needs, strengths, and values to develop a tailored plan that aligns with your goals and promotes positive change. Intention is more than wishful thinking; it is willful direction. As an intentional counselor, I have had the privilege of working with chronically and terminally ill patients and their families, supporting them as they manage the emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual impact of their illness. I have experience working with college students needing support adjusting to college life, building confidence, navigating social situations, and managing stress and anxiety. I have spent years walking with bereaved individuals as they process intense emotions, attempt to understand the grieving process, and find meaning after loss. It has been an honor to support elderly individuals managing grief, the fear of mortality and aging, adapting to retirement, addressing social isolation, and experiencing a range of mental health challenges. I have also had the pleasure of supporting single mothers as they navigate the emotional impact of motherhood, mental health issues, financial stress, and building a support system. In my practice, I do not solely rely on one specific theory but may draw upon different theoretical perspectives. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapies, Reminiscence Therapy, and Grief Therapy.

I am a bilingual therapist that uses a culturally competent lens to empower individuals. I utilize a down to earth, genuine, and caring approach to help clients build resilience, heal from life’s challenges, and unlock their own strengths. My parents came from Cuba in order to open up the doors for me to have what they never had the opportunity to obtain. I am the first person in my family to attend college and to this day the majority of my family does not speak English. My family raised me in a culture where family and relationships are highly valued. I feel very fortunate to have blended cultural values and morals, as this helps me better understand others from different cultures. Are you struggling with crippling guilt and anxiety? Are you caught in a spiral of worry or stress you can’t stop, constantly second-guessing yourself? You feel stuck in the loop of “what ifs”: “what if I fail?”, “what if I lose my job?”, etc. Has owning a business & battling the daily overwhelm of the constant anxious thoughts gotten to be more than you can handle? Are you a first/second gen who is feeling the exhaustion of being the first at everything? You're a tightrope walker, trying to balance others expectations with your own desires. You feel like you’re never “good enough” and are tired of the guilt. Is parenting an overachieving anxious teen leaving you feeling at a complete loss as to how to help them or where to even begin? Hi, I’m Tery, I specialize in anxiety with a special interest/focus in first/ second gen, entrepreneurs, and teens. If you’re looking for a therapist who can relate and will interweave authenticity with a refreshingly no-bullshit, direct approach, then you have come to the right place.

Hello potential client! You are hurting in some way if you are here reading this. Maybe you feel like you are getting more and more stressed out and just one more stressor would be too much for you to handle. Maybe you worry all the time about everything and can't stop. Maybe you are sad all the time and don't enjoy doing things that used to be fun. Maybe you are feeling helpless or hopeless about what to do. Maybe you have been through a traumatic experience or are grieving. Maybe you are thinking the way you have been using substances is causing you problems. You have tried your best to help yourself but nothing has worked the way you hoped it would. You don't know what to do but you do know you can't keep going the way you have been. This is where I come in! I help people who are ready to change for the better! My heart is for helping hurting people and I strive to treat all of my clients with the compassion and respect I believe they deserve. The most important part of positive change in a therapeutic relationship depends on just that - the relationship between the therapist and the client. I also use a variety of resources to help my clients. These include evidence-based types of therapy, worksheets and measurements. I also offer Christian counseling to those who are interested and am also happy to work with people of other spiritual beliefs. I offer free consultation calls so we can both decide if working together would be a good fit for both of us. I look forward to hearing from you if I sound like I would be your kind of therapist!

Sometimes the body is the first indicator that it's time to deal with our trauma. When this happens, the feelings that arise can be overwhelming and scary. The good news is, you don't have to deal with them alone. In the words of Bessel van der Kolk, author of The Body Keeps the Score: “Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives.” My role in this process is to help you understand the origin of these thoughts and gently escort you into a new future. Need to talk about issues of trauma, depression or anxiety? Feel like you’re drowning amidst all the recent changes in your life? If so, I’d be happy to explore this with you further. I help adults from diverse backgrounds and cultures deal with different life transitions and manage self esteem issues. I have a trauma focused background and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I primarily use the tools of compassion, psychoeducation, mindfulness, and problem solving to offer new perspectives on dealing with intergenerational trauma. In many cases, certain behaviors unknowingly are repeated between parents and their children. In session, we address your childhood trauma by discussing what happened, and processing your past and present feelings. Aside from family trauma repetitions, dealing with all the recent changes in the world can also be a source of stress and anxiety. When we meet, we’ll dive into all these stressors and establish a plan for self-care that will assist you in letting go of negative thoughts and feelings and move towards a space of more optimism.

I’m a licensed mental health therapist committed to helping individuals heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, and adverse experiences. With specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), I help clients reprocess unresolved memories and reduce their emotional intensity, fostering relief and emotional stability. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and client-centered, creating a safe space where you can explore your emotions and work toward meaningful change. In addition to EMDR, I integrate cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness strategies, and strengths-based interventions to support clients in building resilience and developing effective coping skills. I am passionate about empowering individuals to overcome emotional challenges, regain a sense of control, and embrace their personal growth journey. Whether you’re seeking support for past trauma, managing symptoms of anxiety or depression, or simply looking for a space to process life’s difficulties, I am here to help. Together, we will work at your pace to identify goals, process difficult emotions, and build the tools you need to move forward with confidence and clarity.
