I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from Albany State University and I am licensed in the states of Florida, North Carolina, and Washington State. I earned the TeleMental Health Training Certificate (THTC) through the completion of the comprehensive THTC program through the Telehealth Certification Institute. I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I currently resides in North Carolina, where I enjoys reading, yoga, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. My passion is working to bring peace of mind, contentment, and positive self-empowerment to the lives of others.
In our first session, I will work to ensure you have an understanding of the therapy process, making sure you understand all the paper work and answer all of your questions. I will work with you to understand what brings you to therapy along with getting an understanding of your past. We will work together to develop therapy goals and understand next steps.
My goal is to provide a safe, therapeutic environment, where one can share their innermost struggles and challenges without feeling judged or criticized. Therapy is an avenue to address the challenges in life that sometimes seem unmanageable. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship, based on genuine acceptance and unconditional positive regard, can be the pathway for change to occur. I value the importance of empathy, respect, and self-determination. I hope to empower the individuals I work with the understanding, tools and strategies to make significant, enduring personal changes.

I feel like Courtenay helps me feel like I can do more than just be here, she told me to celebrate small steps toward success and I think that that’s going to go a long way

She was unprofessional and disorganized. She seemed bored of listening to me talk about major issues in my life. In the middle of me disclosing a situation that was serious. She decided to start intake questions that she randomly forgot to do to begin with. She was a little rude and bossy, and I just felt like she didn’t care about me or my issues. She was not a good listener and made a lot of assumptions and occasionally talked over me. I would not recommend this person.

Courtney is the best she listens but also gives work to help with every day life.
