I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from Albany State University and I am licensed in the states of Florida, North Carolina, and Washington State. I earned the TeleMental Health Training Certificate (THTC) through the completion of the comprehensive THTC program through the Telehealth Certification Institute. I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I currently resides in North Carolina, where I enjoys reading, yoga, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. My passion is working to bring peace of mind, contentment, and positive self-empowerment to the lives of others.
In our first session, I will work to ensure you have an understanding of the therapy process, making sure you understand all the paper work and answer all of your questions. I will work with you to understand what brings you to therapy along with getting an understanding of your past. We will work together to develop therapy goals and understand next steps.
My goal is to provide a safe, therapeutic environment, where one can share their innermost struggles and challenges without feeling judged or criticized. Therapy is an avenue to address the challenges in life that sometimes seem unmanageable. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship, based on genuine acceptance and unconditional positive regard, can be the pathway for change to occur. I value the importance of empathy, respect, and self-determination. I hope to empower the individuals I work with the understanding, tools and strategies to make significant, enduring personal changes.
I am an eclectic therapist. Eclectic therapy is a flexible and multifaceted approach that allows me to use the most effective methods available to address each client’s needs. Simply stated, I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities and I choose the most appropriate techniques to help my client’s reach their therapy goals. The methods or techniques I use most include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, Narrative Therapy, Patient Centered, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.
