I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, practicing in Florida and California. I have a PhD in Family Therapy. I have been working with clients in social and mental health settings for more than 20 years. I have experience working with diverse populations (different cultural backgrounds). I work with individuals, couples, and families facing grief, depression, anxiety, anger, life transitions, stress, problems in their relationships with relatives, co-worker/classmates, and trauma, among others.
During the initial session, I explain the confidentiality and teletherapy policies to my clients. My clients have the opportunity to ask questions related to the therapeutic process. My clients share information about their family, work/school, social life, hobbies, goals, and dreams. We discuss their reason for therapy, their expectations, and preliminary therapeutic goals. My goal during the initial session is to create a safe space (non-judgmental) for my clients to feel comfortable sharing their feelings and thoughts.
I am a compassionate, caring, and positive professional. I respect and honor my clients' stories. I like to learn from my clients' experiences and value their contribution to my professional life.
I am a systemic family therapist with an educational background in strength-based, solution-focused, and relational approaches. I believe that my clients are the experts in their lives and that they have the necessary resources to overcome difficulties and move forward.
I facilitate meaningful and solution-focused converstations with my clients so they can work on their concerns and achieve their goals.
