Welcome! I'm Margaret Rivera. Please take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health. Starting therapy can be empowering yet scary at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression and many other issues that may come up. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my greatest strength as a mental health professional is my years of experience working with people from all walks of life. I have much empathy for my clients and show that through kindness and understanding. I am also direct, when my clients are ready, with the goal of them progressing in their treatment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT with clients experiencing anxiety and depression for many years and it has been a very successful form of treatment.

Eclectic

I pull from many different theoretical approaches depending on the specific needs of my clients.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Many times clients do not have the time to invest in long term counseling. This is when solution focused brief treatment can be an appropriate form of treatment to help the client address immediate presenting issues.

Psychoeducation

Educating clients on symptoms associated with their diagnosis as well as helpful tools to manage those symptoms has contributed many times to my client's mental wellness.
