This situation made me wonder, what if, in her younger years, she would have met someone who was supportive, understanding, kind, selfless, and invested in helping her be the best version of her, she could be. It was then that I decided to enter the Social Work Field. I wanted to provide help to those who could not help themselves and aid to those in need.

I have over 12 years experience providing assessment and therapeutic intervention to children and adults. I am trained in providing numerous, evidence-based therapies that are proven to help alleviate symptoms and increase quality of life in short periods of time. My area of focus is trauma and life stressors, being trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, psychodynamic as well as cognitive behavioral interventions.

I earned my doctorate and post-graduate master's degrees in psychology and my master's degree in counseling from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Professionally, I retired from the United States Air Force as a senior non-commissioned officer, and since retiring, have worked in several different behavioral health settings. In addition to my private practice, I am a graduate-level adjunct professor of counseling psychology.
