After graduating from Troy University with my Master's in Counseling and Psychology, I have worked in several different capacities. I have experience with inpatient group settings, outpatient counseling settings to include working with those suffering from addiction and working towards recovery, depression and anxiety among other mental health concerns. One of my most rewarding experiences was working with PTSD survivors. I recently have received my doctorate in Psychology with a concentration in grief counseling. I most enjoy being a part of my client's journey to mental health recovery. Also, I have been an Adjunct Psychology Professor for over the past 6 years and have been immersed in the academic arena which has allowed me to assist undergraduate psychology majors who wish to go into higher levels of education. Hello there! My name is Elizabeth Taylor and I am in Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have been working as a counselor for the past 9 years, although I have been working in the mental health field for much longer. I began working as a Mental Health Technician when I was an Airman in the United States Air Force in 2007. I worked closely with military men and women returning from deployments and experiencing symptoms of PTSD. I led Anger Management and Stress Management groups. This experience grew my desire to enter into a field that involved helping those struggling with mental health challenges to find healing. I separated from the Air Force and went into grad school. Since graduating, I have worked as a therapist with several different populations, including families involved with the foster care system, adult inmates in a prison, youth in the Juvenile Justice system, adults in community mental health, children in the school setting, and, most recently, adults and children in private practice. I have a passion for working with those suffering with anxiety, OCD, and trauma. I have specialized training in EMDR to help treat trauma, as well as ERP, which has been shown to be the "Gold Standard" treatment for OCD. I am also certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which guides much of my approach to emotion regulation.

I earned my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Capella University while serving in the U.S. Army. I am a veteran and served as a mental health specialist for 7 years. Upon completion of my commitment I relocated back to Florida where I have worked with community based services, corrections, and crisis response services. I have over 20 year of experience and have work with a wide variety of individuals helping them to adjust to and maneuver through life’s up downs and everything in between.

I have been in the mental health field since 2007. I was informed when I first started in this field that the average time for people to stay in the field is two years. I am still in the field because helping others is more than a career choice for me, it is my passion in life. Helping others is a personal goal of mine. I look forward to the opportunity.
