LCSW, 3 years of experience
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, I have always been passionate about supporting the mental health and well-being of adolescents/youth and young adults. After earning a degree in Social Work from Florida International University, I gained extensive experience working with young people in various educational settings, including Ferguson Senior High School, South Miami Heights Elementary, and Richmond Heights Middle School as a Mental Health Coordinator. I also have experience working individuals with disabilities and veterans experiencing homelessness/substance abuse.
Clients can expect to gain a better understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, which is the first step toward meaningful change. Together, we’ll work on developing effective coping mechanisms for managing stress and difficult emotions, allowing you to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
My approach to therapy is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. I believe in tailoring my methods to fit the unique needs of each client, especially when working with youth/young adults. These methods I feel allow the client to feel comfortable and utilize their personal strengths.
I specialize in helping youth/young adults navigate the challenges of bullying, peer pressure, family dynamics, identity issues, depression, anxiety, and social anxiety, I bring both compassion and expertise to each session. With a warm and non-judgmental approach, I strive to create a safe space where everyone feels heard, understood, and empowered. While creating a safe space I utilize Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address concerning issues.
I use Solution Focused Brief Therapy to address a range of issues, including anxiety, ADHD symptoms, academic challenges, and family-related stress. SFBT emphasizes resilience, creativity, and optimism, focusing on strengths and setting clear goals.
