Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida with a Master's degree from the University of North Florida and four years of practice experience. I am dedicated to challenging the stigma surrounding mental health. I support men and women as they navigate the challenges of adulthood and embark on their journey to wholeness by improving their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
In our first session, we'll begin with brief introductions, followed by a biopsychosocial assessment. This will allow us to gain a comprehensive understanding of the various factors influencing your functioning and help us develop goals tailored to your specific needs.
My greatest strength is forming genuine relationships with my clients, creating a safe and judgment-free space where they feel comfortable being their authentic selves.
I work with men and women who feel unsatisfied with their work-life balance, are adjusting to change, struggle to maintain relationships, and often experience stress, anxiety, or overwhelm.

Interpersonal
IPT is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on the relational aspects of emotional well-being. I use this treatment method to help individuals improve their overall mental health by enhancing their relationships and communication skills.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Negative thought patterns can lead to emotional distress and maladaptive behaviors, and by changing these thought patterns. I utilize CBT techniques and assist individuals in improving their emotional state and overall functioning by taking control of their thoughts and behaviors.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT is a form of psychotherapy that combines mindfulness skills with behavioral strategies to help individuals accept what is out of their control and commit to actions that align with their values. I use ACT therapy techniques that help individuals accept difficult experiences and foster resilience.

I think the one thing I can say that I enjoyed was how actively listening she was involved in our conversation. I'm hoping for the best that we can work together.

Huguena is a breath of fresh air for me! I have a hard time communicating what I’m going through or what I wanna say sometimes but Huguena listened and was able to understand exactly what I wanted out of therapy. I am excited to be on this journey with her by my side.

When I first began therapy, I was very hesitant. Now, I’m excited to share what worries me, my trauma, ideas and my negative habits. Now when I’m faced with any of these, I ask some of the questions that are asked during our sessions. I sometimes time say, “now what would Huguena say about this?”. She helps me become more open minded and seeing all points of view ls before making a knee jerk decision or feeling towards the situation or person.
