Dr. Thompson is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and enjoys working with first responders, children, adolescence, and LGBTQ individuals. Dr. Thompson completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and offers EMDR sessions. Dr. Thompson received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Florida Southern College in 2004, master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Capella University in 2017, and her doctorate 2021. Dr. Thompson has an extensive background in child and family services and transitioned from child welfare professional to counselor in 2017. Other strategies are developmental, psychoanalytical, and humanistic in approach and encourage one to develop a stronger healthier sense of self. All approaches are evidence-based meaning research has influenced the practice.
