New to Grow
Hi, I’m Deanna, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about helping adults and women navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, build emotional awareness, and move toward healing and personal growth. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and integrates person-centered therapy, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and practical coping strategies to help clients feel more aligned, grounded, and congruent in their daily lives.
During our first session, clients can expect a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment focused on building rapport and creating emotional safety. We will explore your current concerns, personal experiences, therapy goals, and what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process. My goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and comfortable while collaboratively identifying the areas you would like support with and beginning to develop a plan tailored to your individual needs.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a genuine, authentic, and emotionally safe space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I strive to meet clients where they are by entering their world with empathy, compassion, and without judgment while serving as a grounded and supportive container for emotional processing, healing, and self-exploration. Clients often appreciate my warm, collaborative approach and my ability to balance emotional support with practical coping strategies, insight, and trauma-informed care that promotes meaningful growth and lasting change.
I am best positioned to support adults and women navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and difficulties related to self-worth and emotional regulation. Many of the clients I work with are seeking greater balance, healing, self-awareness, and healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges while learning to live more aligned and congruent with their authentic selves. I provide a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel safe exploring their emotions, patterns, and experiences while working toward meaningful personal growth. My approach is trauma-informed and integrates person-centered therapy, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and practical coping strategies tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I utilize a person-centered approach to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel emotionally safe, heard, and understood. I believe in meeting clients where they are while fostering authenticity, self-awareness, and personal growth. In my practice, I integrate empathy, reflective listening, and collaborative goal setting to support clients navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I often combine person-centered therapy with evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed interventions to help clients build insight, emotional regulation skills, and greater overall well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, increase emotional awareness, and develop healthier coping strategies. In my practice, CBT is often used to support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, stress, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions. I incorporate psychoeducation, cognitive reframing, behavioral interventions, mindfulness, and practical skill-building to help clients improve daily functioning and create meaningful behavioral and emotional change. I tailor interventions to each client’s individual needs while integrating a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic approach.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to support clients in developing emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. In my practice, DBT-informed interventions are often incorporated when working with clients experiencing emotional dysregulation, trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, relationship difficulties, stress, and challenges managing intense emotions. I provide psychoeducation and practical coping strategies to help clients increase self-awareness, improve emotional balance, and respond to difficult situations more effectively. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals.
