I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing individual and family counseling to adults. My passion is to help people learn how to discover happiness and healthy living with the right amount of insight and understanding. I have an interest in working with broken relationships, addictions, past abuse, isolation, and loneliness. I believe that therapy can help overcome feeling fearful and unsure about life's challenges. I also am the co-host and co-founder of the Psychology of Play Podcast which focuses on today's topics related to improved mental health and well-being.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through talk therapy and EMDR. I also use EMDR to help clients who struggle with addictions. I am also trained in DBT and Imago couples therapy. I use this technique, especially in teaching clients how to communicate through 2 layers of communication which include core beliefs and emotions resulting from these beliefs.
I believe that my clients first and foremost take away being understood and cared for in a non-judgmental way for where they are currently at in the process. They will then find themselves being challenged and always taking away from therapy opportunities to continue the growth process through designed tools tailored for their success.
I love working with Adults, Teenagers, and Couples. I specifically work with couples who want to work on healthy communication skills through Imago therapy. I have had the privilege of working with individuals who have been through trauma, anxiety, and depressive related issues.
