I have over 20 years experience in the mental health field. I started out in education and I enjoyed that field, but I wanted to work more one on one with people. I would say that being human can be hard, but change is possible. I support wellness. The sessions you attend with me are for your total well-being. You can call them your well-being sessions. Your body, mind, and essence Each session you attend is like an investment in yourself. I provide examples, homework, and support resources in video and text. I know you matter and I am invested in helping humans be their best.
The first session is an introduction. It may seem awkward to share with someone you don't know. Just know that your well-being is the priority. I am here to listen with openness and understanding. Together we make steps to make changes in your life, your thinking, and your behavior so things are better, more manageable. I don't expect that you are going to tell me everything, but I hope you tell yourself everything so that you can make changes. Always, a thought can be changed. This first session is also getting to know me and my getting to know you. It is a beginning for a new understanding of who you are and how you function in the world. Together we will explore some of the tools you will acquire and how you will use the tools to help you navigate your life successfully.
I am a wellness counselor, I am invested in YOUR well-being, not sickness. I have been doing this work for over 25 years and I find that meeting a person as a person first is most important. I have seen people make amazing changing in a short period of time as they make small changes. I don 't like labels, we are all unique, doing our best with this thing called life. And while a diagnosis is necessary, that is not what you want to focus on. If today, all was well, how would you be? That is better, for you and everyone.
Your motivation will help drive the process. Remember, this is an investment in yourself. If you are wiling to put time into the work...You cannot fail! I know it isn't easy, it takes time and effort, like anything. But you are worth it.
How you think is linked to how you feel and act, being able to make changes in the thought process can be life changing.
Learning to be mindful each day can really help to be more relaxed and open to life.
Communication between partners is an important part of understaning and connecting in a relationship.
